I just got back from Saigon/Dalat and still have flashback. I miss Saigon so much, my mind is still in Saigon eventhough I'm back at work now.
While in Saigon, I took a day trip to Cai Be/Vinh Long from Sinh Cafe. The trip took almost 3 hour one-way by bus eventhough Cai Be is only i think less than 60 miles away. I sat on the front row of the bus behind the driver and the fastest he could go was about 40km/h or 28 mph.
How difficult is it for VN to build a decent freaking freeway where people can drive without having to share the road with buffaloes, dogs, motorbikes, and whatnot? A two-lane freeway from Hanoi to Saigon is not that hard to build. If the commies could build a rat tunnel 250km long, why can't they build a freaking freeway?
And don't forget to install a few freaking traffic lights at major intersections. How could a country know how to defeat the French(well, anyone can defeat the French anyway) and American, but doesn't know how to build a decent road for motor vehicles?
If Saigon has a subway, that would be so awesome. The roads would be less congested as there are fewer motorbikes. Few motorbikes means a cleaner and greener city. Wouldn't you agree?
