You are Cambodian. You are just Thai by nationality but khmer by ethnicity. They same thing goes with being born in the United States. I was born in VA ( Virginia ) and American by nationality but Khmer by blood .

I am not very interested in militarized Cambodia, since our country is just too poor. We need to pay more attention on economic. After our country get richer, we can have a decent army to defend our land. For now, how about 0 expense on military, and 100% on economic and developement?

dude we need to atleast put in some money for our military. It dosent even matter if they don't get a lot of money we need to atleast put in some money for them. But i agree with people on here to focus more on our econmy but we still need to suport our military. If we put in no expense for them there is no reason to have a military in Cambodia.

We should have a program that makes good use of the military men instead of sitting or being idle during peace time like this. Just some sort of program that can be useful to Cambodia.

How about gather the best of their kinds and contract their service out to US's Iraq. Experience and earning income.

Hun Sen won't let them. I remember reading a article about the US asking Cambodia to send troops to Iraq. Hun Sen refused because "he won't let his men suffer again after they had suffered enough during the Khmer Rouge". That's what i remember from the article. I can't find it now.

You are correct about Hun Sen not allowing his troops going to Iraq. However, I was not refering his troops, what I am reffering to is freelancer aka mercenary. Former Khmer Rouge can be send to do dangerouse jobs. Besides, I was just kidding around.

Can you elaborate on how you are NOT Khmer but Thai instead ?. Im kind of confuse about who it is you see yourself. I myself live in America, but I still consider myself Khmer by blood. Do you mean that you are Thai national but Khmer blood? Sometime I get the feel like you are more proud of being Thai than Khmer. Eventhough I do feel that alot of true Thais is originally Khmer in the beginning, and some may disagree with me, but if I realize that I am Khmer, speak Khmer, originally from Khmer, I can't see myself claiming otherwise just by living in a different country. Im not flaming you, just my curiousity of how you think.

You are right! Thailand never helped the Khmer people. They treated the Khmer people very negatively. Even today, Thai society been thought to discriminate those of Khmer ancestor or have skin darken like the Khmer people as inferior. There society does not tolerate dark skin or uneven skin color in Thailand. Also they run in classes not equality.
