Đúng vậy, tôi đă đánh vần trật.

I have trouble distinguishing a "V" (Northern accent) and a "D" (Southern accent) sometime. I am clueless when a "V" or a "D" should be with Southerners if I didn't have prior knowledge of the words.
Northerner: Vững Vàng
Southerner: Dững Dàng
So, is Dinh could be a Vinh ?
Isn't Vinh as in "vinh dư" ? honor or "vinh hoan" celebrate. So, Vinh Độc Lập as a Celebration of Independence.
But then Vinh -> Dinh as it imports into the south !?

because I don't really know what "dinh" means in Vietnamese though
