I'm an OM&IS major (Business: IS at Urbana). What I don't like about Northern is the lack of smart people. I'm top 10% of my class without trying. I applied for honors this semester cause I'm bored.

For a proclaimed smart person, why do you need AF to direct you in your educational goals?
Anyway, go for it. If that's what you want.

because there's a fair amount of people my age that live in IL here. And we only have a few main public universities

I hate U of I. Although academically their business program isn't bad. I'd go there over Northern.

then again, business is the best part of Northern, especially accounting. and undergrad degrees hardly matter anymore, emphasis is where you got your graduates degree from. but I'm not sure how much of an improvement of any U of I could do in the IS field. It's true that a lot of my classmates are morons right now but it seems like in higher level classes the dumb people get filtered out.
