I would say Soho/Tribeca/Chinatown area.

The small art galleries, the small boutiques, the luxurious boutiques, creative art studios, dinky pearl river mart with cute goods, kates paperie, small artistic tables with goods, cobblestone ground, and magazine publishers, etc.

I absolutely hate hate time square/ 34th street. It's such a tourist area with a whole bunch of tourists. And so much Hotels.

NYU area is more like SoHo.

Which comedy club did you go? I love the environment & surroundings in downtown area.

NYU is more like in the Southern unionsquare/Greenwich village/ Noho area. It's building are just all over the place really.

I think it really doesn't go below Houston street, because Soho stands for South of Houston......

Soho is more artistic with those galleries and what not.

I went to the comedy cellar. funny. do you go? to bars or comedy clubs?

I'm actually looking around for a good comedy club to go to. Never really been to one. I love bars around SoHo & the Village but nowadays, I'm not in the mood for that & looking for something different. A comedy club is something that I never really been especially around downtown area. Any recommendation?

Me too---- luv the downtown area. Some nice small restaurants and bars to frequent.

Bars down by Ludlow street and alphabet city have been hoppen in the last few years.

Comedy clubs -- Carolines or Dangerfields (both are in midtown). Check out which acts are performing. Saw Margaret Cho at Carolines once...she was 'ok'.

I like Queens, the northern part of it.

Flushing, Elmhursts, those areas. And malls like Queens Center.

I sometimes like the snooty serenity of the Upper East Side...when I just want to be left alone and not deal with foot traffic. But I'll always love the Village...my new favorite is Union Square.

Union Square has always been a favorite spot of mine. Just a great place to hang out. biggthumpup.gif

Village.

Chess games in Washington Square. Yakitori in Astor Place. Cones. Joe's Pizza. Bing. Spice. Republic Noodles. Po. Mesa Grille. Tomoe. ...
