I live in the united stated and I get so sick of taxes. Every time I look over my shoulder there's another one .

I you think about it some are needed but it should be your choice .

taxes are used for public schools, keeping roads fixed, ect...

what are some taxes in Japan? list some and what are they used for ?

do you agree with taxes? do you feel your taxes are being spent well?

I'm just curious I will live in japan in 4 to 5 years if they will have me
I was moving to china but ... that one child rule I need at least 2 children.
Puggles
why do you NEED 2 children?
running horse
Simple- I speak 8 languages I have an in depth knolege of cultures i make video games I can do very creative things with cardboard ect ect ect... now how can I pass all of that along to one child? I can't expect one child to carry all of the burden of learning my ways and carrying one all of my cultures and abilities. that's where the kings messed up, they only had one or two heirs when they should have had 4 or 5 to ensure things were passed along.

Japanese sales tax is lighter than in the states. 5% in all of Japan. Unlike the States where every state has different sales taxes, Japan is all one number. Also, by law, the price tag has to show the price of the product INCLUDING tax. So, there's none of that $~~99.99 crap that's in America. Everything costs exactly Y~~00.

Japanese taxes go mostly into corrupt politicians money and corrupt Chinese politicians money. Also, right now the biggest thing on the topic of taxes is NENKIN, Japanese social security pensions. Many politicians have recently been accused of not paying for their nenkin because politicians will still receive something called a politician's pension. SS in the states has succeeded for more than 60 years and no politician in the States would ever decide to remove that but in Japan, where there is such a high average age, the SS system may be removed....

"......there is Chinese politicians in Japan? "

I meant Chinese politicians in China. Japanese tax money is being sucked up by the Chinese. It was the Japanese tax payers that paid for China's military. It was Japanese tax payers that paid for China's space program. We Japanese citizens are paying for the very country that is threatening our existence.
Shao
Why the hell do Japan pay taxes for China? Plus China isn't threatening Japan; North Korea is.
barkerintokyo
Well it's called "ODA" Official Development Aid. China still claims that it is an underdeveloped country that needs aid. Japan must pay ODA to China as Japan is a so called Developed Nation. China then used our money to build space rockets and fix up their military technology.

The poor children on the streets of China smoking cigarettes will remain unrehabilitated while the rich Chinese politicians will think up of more ways to take advantage of Japan.

Oh yeah, North Korea is receiving aid from Japan too. We increased our aid to them a couple weeks ago so that we can get 5 hostages back. Funny huh? We had to pay to get OUR hostages back. Makes no sense....

Hey now there is something similar.

Our sales tax rate in Malaysia is also 5%.

Items you buy from a supermarket will be charged with a 5% tax.

Even the food you pay when you dine in restaurants is charged with a 5% tax.
