As Thailand have been through many coups before, it was resolved quite peacefully. What will happened this time? How will it affect its neighbors like Malaysia, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos? As of now it have affected the global market a liitle bit.

It will affect the region in a greater light.

Thailand, will now have a properly functioning government which will be for the time being under the control of the military headed by General Sonthi. Under the blessing and light of the Golden Tiered Throne--supported by His Most Royal Majesty himself.

General elections will be held in immediance and the next elected prime miinister will have control of a more stable Thailand. With the ascension of the military, the southern debacle will be properly assessed. Combating terrorists will no longer be a problem as the old regime's policies were seen as 'poor' in understanding the strategic initiatives in the south. Who else is better to understand than the military itself. Additionally, the stock markets wont be affected that much as the power transition was quite peaceful and universally accepted by the Kingdom--knowing that it was supported by His Royal Majesety. Albeit there were some kind of fluctuations in the stock market--that was a result of the beginning of the coup--however after a day and after normalization occured, stabilization is occurring as we speak.

This is the birth of a NEW Thailand. A less corrupt Thailand, a more democratic Thailand. I hope the region can learn from this and understand that the people too can take action against a corrupt and illegitimate government. Because in the end the government is composed of officials representing the people, of the people and who speak for the people. But when government is ineffective in that it procures protest from the citizens, its actions null in handling daunting tasks--then that government should be removed from power.

In the end, this military internvention was an act to protect Thailand from having a verge of national collapse. Its occurance and royal support delegitimized the old regime and in the process--brought fresh air to the people. A new start, will occur.

THAILAND has AWAKENED. The Mighty Golden Elephant stands tall in all its spleandor. Behold!!!!

no coup in Vietnam, nothing like this should happen beccause it will only hurt the economy. Vietnam is growing rapidly if a coup was to happen it will only slow down the rapid pace. I don't think the coup in thailand hurt southeast asia to a large degree

i bet the cambodian gov't wont show the coup in cambodia. hun sen knows the people might see this as an opportunity to try to rebel there.
