LOL. You know that you can search a lot of these information on the internet right? Most of us took the information from the internet anyways. Good luck. We'll be glad to help you.

I'm sure you could find all this information on the internet... check Lonely Planet for starters...

Hey there, Uppiey. Welcome! It's good to hear that you are interested in learning about the Vietnam country. We'd be happy to help you with that, since that's also what this place is for. The info that you requested is a lot of stuff, so please understand that we might not be able to provide them in a thorough or accurate manner here. I think that you will be able to find a lot of good stuff if you do research on the internet, which is where we get our info as well. But to assist you, I can direct you to some of the websites that I have visited, and find useful:

1) http://www.limsi.fr/Recherche/CIG/anglais.htm
2) http://www.vietnamembassy-usa.org/learn/
3) A comprehensive book, Customs and Culture of Vietnam, written through the Western perspective:
http://www.militaryliving.com/vietnam2/index.html
4) A lot of info about the Vietnam culture, and pictures of Vietnam here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/vietnam/canh.html

I'm sure there are many others; perhaps, others can add some more websites that they have found to be interesting or helpful (I'd like to know too =) ).

You can search on your own as well, and find more of what you specifically needed. I don't know how much experience you have had with doing research on the internet. But this is in case you would need some tips. Nowadays, as we know, the internet is a very resourceful place to find information about practically everything. So it would be helpful for us to practice our internet search skills, such as when we are doing a report for school. It just takes experience, some common sense, and the ability to scan. Google might be the best search engine to start with. Then, the key to doing a search is knowing which key words to use, as they relate to what you are looking for, and connecting the words with '+' or closing them with quotation marks. Others might know better than me in this respect, but these are some things that I have learned from my experience, and would like to share with you just in case you haven't known. I am still amazed at the amount of information we can have access to on the internet, such as on Vietnam, and which I still have yet to come across. So, it always helps to ask each other what we have found. Well, good luck! icon_smile.gif

P.S. I'm assuming that part of the reason why your topic might not receive much notice or response is that your subject line is not specific enough. It would be more effective if you have a subject line that gives the reader enough info on what the thread will be about. Perhaps, you might consider changing it to something like "Learning about the country of Vietnam", or "Need info on the culture & costumes of Vietnam,", or something along the lines of. I see its potential of becoming a thread where info on, or directories to info on, Vietnam can be found. Thanks.
