I love riding motorbike. The only thing that holds me back from riding like that is the "cong an". Hate to deal with them. Also, tourists can't ride/drive in Vietnam unless you're on a business visa and passed/obtained your liscense there. I'm looking into getting an international driver liscense for my next trip. If you're caught w/o driver liscense and insurance, they'll take your bike away and cost you more $$$ to get it back. bawling.gif

You can get a good simple motorcyle for under $1,000 in Vietnam. biggthumpup.gif

Yup, for a new one and even cheaper in the $600-$700 for a used one. What suck is you can't use your residence motorcyle liscense(in my case, the US) to ride in Vietnam but people ride anyway and pay "cong an cafe" money if get caught(I don't like this option).

My next dream adventure is to ride from North to South with a motorbike and prolly on a Minsk. But before I can do that I really want to ride the Northern mountainous roads first. I have seen pictures and they are so beautifull. Just riding those roads will take me prolly 1-2 weeks. After this one I will do the North-South ride.
Maybe some of you can join me. It'll be super fun. biggthumpup.gif

Please let us know when you have the ride from North to South in the future. I think some of us in here are interested. biggthumpup.gif
