Hello all,

I am about 18 years old and have lots of cousins around that age and younger. We use to have lots of fun with our family, uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives when I was a lot younger but after being in America for quite some time, it appears that money became the base that broke all of us apart and next thing you know, there were arguments and all kinds of disputes. None of our uncles and aunts get along anymore and refuse to celebrate anything together nor visit each other homes. Now thinking back about how it use to be for me and many of my cousins around my age, we had a fun time. I want it to be the same again, but for the younger ones. No one do Christmas or Thanksgiving or even Chinese New Year (big for us) anymore.

So I'm trying to take charge and me and my older cousins will try to make the Christmas, Thanksgiving, and our chinese new year coming up a great one. So if you guys have any ideas or plans that you guys thought was very fun for you and your family, please post up. Our funding will be very limited since there probably be no parents involved. So I don't see any air flights in this or nice hotels. There will be lots of responsibility since these kids will be fairly young. So nothing too crazy. If you need to know, our cousins are about the age of 9-19 (most of which are over 15). Possibly road trips in so cal or nor cal. So please talk about anything. Thanks a lot in advance.

And as for camping, we are planning one to do one up in Kings Canyon. Now what I need from you guys are things to do. We are planning to spend lots of time hiking, diping in river, making fire, and cooking. I can't really think of anything else. Please recommend some activities (for 14-19 year olds to do), food, and possibly scary stories to tell.

Also for spare times. What do you guys normally do on the weekends? Me and my bro are paintballers, so we practice for tournaments once every week and study the rest of our days. But we need breaks sometime and hang out with our cousins who seem to always have free time. We are tired of going to the movies, arcades, and theme parks. Nothing much to do at the mall or any other place. We can't think of anything new. The only fun thing we can do currently is go to the beach and hang out. Anything else? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Again thanks a lot for any help. Please don't flame =(.

holidays you can always go eat... resteraunts are ok but maybe better idea is to bbq at someones house. simple things are hamburgers and hot dogs. you can also get already marinated korean bbq at korean stores...

where are you guys from? kings canyon is pretty far from my house. i went there but i didnt really like it. i went to big bear this past weekend, rented wave runners but thats pretty expensive($75-120 an hour for one). a speed boat was $100. Kayaks for $12 an hour.

i heard kern river was good, my co-worker buys these tubes for $5 somewhere and floats down the river. not exactly sure what spot, i'm trying to find out too...

beach is always fun. volleyball, football, frisbee, boogey boards are somethings you can do. i went down to san diego a month ago and the beaches are really nice compared to LA's.

i know paintballing is expensive but ever thought of doing that with your cousins?

but yeah i would definitely recommend bbqs though.

VNlilMan- Thanks for your input. BBQs is a good idea and I love Korean bbq. We usually have bbqs once in a while and gamble and watch movies and just hang out. I guess we can do that more often. I'm from Long Beach btw.

I have been to kern river and it's pretty nice. I have also been to kings canyon and I loved it too. What's this thing about $5 tube? Wave runners, speed boat, and kayaking all sound fun and lots of money as well. Do you know anything we can do with big group for one decent price?

And I did consider paintballing but i didn't know if my cousins would like it because of the sound of paintball, but i'll ask again. Thanks a lot man.
