Yes, why?

Wow, your post comes at the perfect time, at when CSVN is trying to open Vietnam's economy to the world, trying to actively reform so its laws are at international level standard, trying to shift to a market economy from an uneffective, centrally planned economy so it can catch up with ASEAN countries. It is trying to get away from communism, unfortunately only gradually. Maybe, you have a brilliant idea that can turn Vietnam into a powerhouse, without doing all of above?

My first reaction to "Vietnam should stay Communism" is "Y tu mama!" However, giving a dispassionate answer is probably the right way to react.

Given that my cousins in Canada were boat people, and that boat people came from both North and South, I would disagree that Communism is the best system for Vietnam.

Should Vietnam stay Communist? Not if we want Vietnam to be an economic powerhouse with the kind of government that can take care of our poorest citizens, and a strong nation with a future that other countries envy.

May Vietnam have 1 000 years of Peace. During the War, my family supported the RVN. We lost and Ended up in America. I have friends and Relatives in the ARVN, and distant Relatives in the North whom most likely served in the PAVN.........what a bloody Tragedy.
I am just happy to see Peace.

Is that why I see children of the Communist party driving Lambos in the inner city while top hard working students are barely scraping by for a meal?
