Oh yes! I was lucky enuff to see the original London cast in '89. biggrin.gif Lea Salonga was just heavenly in the role of Kim. Many people in the audience was really moved by her performance. I think I cried too cry2.gif, which was fine cos I was just a kid, but my teenaged bro also had a tear in his eyes. Though he denies it to this day!! Miss Saigon is one of the best theatrical shows in our modern times methinks.

I grew up in New York and I saw it on Broadway. It was amazing! It's about an American soldier and a Vietnamese girl. The American goes to Vietnam for the war and meets this Vietnamese girl who he falls in love with. Then he has to come back to America and he's waiting for her at the base to take her with him but she was late and couldn't get through and he took off without her. She couldn't get to America. He goes home and the story splits between a story in VNand a story in America.
He moves on and gets married to an American but has nightmares about leaving Kim in Vietnam.
Kim has had his child in Vietnam and is still trying to get there.
Years later she makes it there and shows up and meets his wife.
What happens after that well you'll just have to see it.
