Alright so I *thought* I had *everything* sorted out. But then I realized I really haven't gotten anything sorted out! OMG what do I bring, what should I not bring with me? I'm going by plane, meaning I can't bring any *big* stuff. I'm planning on getting a fridge and other *big* stuff once I get there. So what are some of the essentials, what are the things you THOUGHT u didn't but u actually did, and the stuff u thought u needed u didn't need?
ABC in NYC
How many pairs of panties are u looking to bring? Thongs --- G-strings boy shorts etc

whenever ive moved around, i always found i didnt bring the right kind of clothing. like i never enough of the right type of clothing. so bring a variety of clothes for different situations. and since ur going to a new climate, bring the appropriate clothes for it.

other than that, just bring the essential stuff you need for everyday life like hygienic stuff.

everything will fall into place once you start living there and you can buy the stuff you need.

what course are you going to be doing?

violin major, so music theory, harmony, keyboard, music history, sight singing, lessons, recitals, orchestra and so on.

if i have time for electives I would love to sign up for a health/nutrition related class. I'm having a hard time imagining taking only music related courses for four years. icon_neutral.gif

music is academic, just a different branch of academic. i think most asian parents abhor art/music mainly b/c they know nothing about it.

My parents wouldn't appreciate a music degree because of the fact that there isnt much chance of a high income. My mother can play the piano and the electric guitar which I find odd...............I still dont understand what was going through her head, very random combination. My father also plays guitar (electric, bass, acoustic) and my mother gave him some piano lessons although I suspect that originally that was more so he could get to know her than the fact that he was genuinely interested. They know bits of other stuff as well though.

what piano and electric guitar, that is odd! eek.gif ya most musicians don't have a high income. its a bit harder to make ALOT of $$ unless either ur REALLY good/ you have connections/ or your business smart. I kno ppl who suck at their major, but they made a bunch staying at home and teaching privately. being a doctor does allow u to make alot of $$$, but i think its a profession that requires great responsibility. say u operate on someone and that person dies....terrible bawling.gif
