I've been researching all kind of Viet Martial Arts and I found Cuong Nhu is very effective in real life combat. Vovinam have soft and hard techniques however Vovinam is mostly based on BinhDinh therefore It is more about Hard than soft, and it's ultimate techinique is flying scisor which is hard to archive and it is not effective in today world. ( Flying Scissor which is good for ambush and forest fight )

Cuong Nhu is a unique and complete program in martial arts training, combining techniques from:
Shotokan Karate (Japan)
Vovinam (Vietnam)
Boxing
Wing Chun Kung Fu (China)
Judo (Japan)
Aikido (Japan)
Tai Chi Chuan (China)

The funny thing I've noticed that Cuong Nhu is known by American than us Viet.

Cung Le is pretty effective with his scissors kick. He said that he had to be careful with this kick because he broke an opponent's jaw with it. So he aims his scissors kick at his opponent's middle instead, for the sake of his opponent's safety.

I have some major name confusion with the various Vietnamese martial arts, which the French colonialists did their best to suppress. However, the same martial art that includes the scissors move also includes punches, kicks and throws. The scissor kicks were originally designed to take a Mongol warrior off his horse.

You must be mistaken, I've never said Vovinam only replies on Neck Scissor kicks. Vovinam has close combat and ground combat techinques. The neck scissor kick only effective for an ambush and when opponent in fatal. Scissor kick can also be used in middle and low body part.. anyway, I gave up Vovinam, because I found Cuong Nhu is better for me It's new and their aim of teaching is for modern combat situation. I like that

May I ask you question have you ever taken any Vovinam Class ? and what rank are you ? because I wanna discuss with you some of Vovinam techiniques which I can't archive.

I did judo for two years and subsequently TKD for three years. I never had the chance to do any Vovinam.
