What kind of poll is that?
I thought the defeated regime VNCH already dead. I never support that kind of dogs.

A poll about which direction the current government should go would be alot more positive.

srry im still a noobie at this chat stuff.....

i dislike both of them.

VNCH was corrupt and useless.
CSVN is corrupt and useless.

set up a new form of government. EXACTLY like the US government, just like two blank pieces of whit paper.

Do you really have to ask? Vietnamese want the country to remain in that S shape. The Khmer Krom people want the part from the 17th paralel down to the southern tip while the con lai hate both options because it doesn't mention Americans in it.

I support some of the things that the current government does, and I oppose others especially in the area of human rights. In general, I want the current government to move toward transparency, accountability and solicitude toward all Vietnamese citizens - and I mean all.

RVN is a dead and gone story, so far as I am concerned. There were good Vietnamese who fought on its behalf but they never got freedom and democracy from the RVN top leadership, which almost uniformly sucked @ss.
Happy Asian
Unless you're a zombie you wouldn't support VNCH.

Yah, I think it should move towards reform and improvement instead of completely overturning the current government. I dont know how effective this will be, it really depends on the extent of substandard bureaucratic elements - executives AND mechanisms.

None of those governments were "democratic" in their transitional state.

Same feeling here. So voted likewise. But i don't agree with you about that US government setup. Vietnam just need a few leaders with vision and morals, who aren't too selfish and only think about filling their pockets. Who cling to power just for the reason of having that power. Vietnam need leaders who will work for their country with the soul purpose of forwarding the country. Make it grow and prosper. Fighting that paralyzing corruption, bettering and expanding the infrastructuur, reducing beaurocracy and creating an entrepreneuring atmosfeer are matters that should be first on their minds. These things are the nutricious grounds for investments and economic growth.

This doesn't have to be realize in a demoncratic system. It can also be realize in a 'communistic' system (just see the neighbouring China, not the optimum, but still nice efforts). I can even go as far as to say that it might be better done in a 'communistic' system since getting all noses in the same direction, with or without some 'persuation', is easier realisable in that system. ^^ When enough people have their primary and secondary needs fullfilled, they automatically will be looking up to more idealistic goals. Freedom and democracy will come more naturaly since it's stronger rooted and supported by a broader part of the vietnamese society. It's just that simple... but the start is sooo difficult! icon_sad.gif

I agree with some here. The Southern gov't was just as corrupt. If I had a choice. It would be Vietnam's current gov't with some tweaks here and there.

^ Government don't have anything to do with religion.
Tav6
^^ in alot of country ... religion plays an important rule on government <<, even the US ... although they try to minimize the influence of religion on politics .. but it still happens <<< for example << Bush won the elections because his beleives are very "religious" like ... no gay marriage and stem cell research and stuff

The current one is improving. It still needs some work here and there but it's progressing, and that's all I care.
