hmm, where are the usual suspects?

i suggest you should start with a list of VNCH officers who were ever jailed by the French, or who never joined the French army. what a pickle, heh?

my ong ngoai was a financial supporter of the Viet Minh under the leadership of Bac Ho. my ong noi was a Viet Minh martyr. his older half-brother was sent to a godforsaken island in Africa after being arrested for anti-French activity, the same place his father, or my ong co noi, had also been sent for his anti-French activity. another one of my ong co nois relatives got his head chopped off for his anti-French activity.

My ong noi was offered a non-military position in the Diem gov't and ended up working there for many years. The irony was that he later moved to France and lived there until he died.

My family was a mess, just like the VN War. My uncles and aunts on both sides (mom & dad) fought for all sides; the NLF, North and South Vietnam. In one incident, my dad's school friend captured one of my aunts (on my mom's side) who turned out to be a Viet Cong.

the Americans supported and financed the French in their bid to reclaim their colony in Viet Nam after WW2. his grandpa supported VNCH/Americans, and fought to split the country in half, so that makes him a "tay sai". all VNCH supporters, aka Nguy, are tay sai.
