This monday Wolfgang Schüssel (Austrian premier minister) met Junichiro Koizumi in Tokyo.
The theme was a planned "Austria year 2009" in Japan.

The double tax agreement and the social insurance system were also dicussed. (Our countries share quite the same problems, when it's about the average population growing older and older)
Schüssel also met Emperor Akihito, who posed some questions to the Austria premier.

I think the bonds between Japan and Austria should be much closer.
People in Austria are very America orientated, but I think it's time for a change.
If I asked my classmates any questions about Japan, they'd mostly just shake their shoulders.
Regrettably it seems, as if the onliest cuture they liked, would be the American.

What about the popularity of Austria in Japan, or at least, what do people in Japan know about Austria?
