madgo.gif madgo.gif Did u guys heard about the Buddha picture that was on one of the Victoria Secret model swimsuit crotch. This was really inappropriate and offensive to all the Budhhist. Its one thing to advertise your product with catchy phrases, words or pictures to reach your consumers but it's another thing when your advertistment incorporated any religion in a very disrespectful way!! What the F**k were they thinking, on their "Tankini" swimwear they mention reaching nirvana through their clothing. How disrespectful is that!! Nirvana is a psychological transformation, when one reaches enlightment in the Buddhist teaching. By all means this is really devaluing towards all the Buddhist out there!!! How bout putting the picture of Jesus or Allah on the crotch area!! madgo.gif madgo.gif

It was in this website but they yanked it out a few days ago.

www.ondademar.com/collection.htm

Select: Tropicana 3

Select the model between the models in blue and green bikini.

It's really a disgrace. Victoria's Secret is an Israeli-owned company based in Tel Aviv.

It's a Jewish conspiracy I tell ya embarassedlaugh.gif

But then again, these people should now a bit or two about how sacred Buddha is to the vast number of Buddhists. I have the perception that Jews are very religious so I think they should know this better.

Very disrepecting. There have been protested against such a thing before but I guess they didn't care.

I believe they don't know anything about the Buddha's discipline and policy at all, thats why they do whatever they feel to do. Or they think the Buddha is too hot of wearing some heavier uniforms...So.. they buy the Mikini for Buddha to getting for swimming. So?? Do they act like that then???

The strangest thing was this: the initial response from the executives at Victoria's Secret (inc.) was to issue a public statement of denial that the image on their line of swimwear (there were several --a Bikini and a "Tankiki") was the Buddha at all. In other words: their argument was "That could be any arahant, sitting in the Lotus position, in an orange robe, meditating under a tree. What makes you think it's the Buddha?"

That statement sorely missed the point. I don't think Buddhists would feel any better about the swimwear if it was specified as depicting Maha-Moggallana, or one of the Buddha's other disciples, rather than the Buddha himself.

Two days later, they decided to halt the line of swimwear.

Welcome to corporate america. I mean, welcome to the world, as conquered and operated by corporate america.
