Full Version: Who's Parents Was Trapped In The War?
My dad and granny and his sister was in the war and they survived my grandad survived too but they splitted up seperate in the war and found themselves again. What about yours?
My parents weren't trapped.. well, half the family went south first, then a few years later the other half left.. they were running n they may have been lost.. my mom doesn't really wanna talk about it

My grandfather was in the war...even thought it probally got nothing to do with the topic subject.
He was working for the royal laos, I heard from my Dad that he was like a General. Theirs alot of bull$hits stuff people said about him..like he and his mens were capture by the V.C. Some said he was trying to sent a message to the South Viet but got caught.....to this day my family dont know what happen to him.

Wow. I haven't study much about Laos involvement in the war. I know now Laos in currently communist, but I didn't realize that there was a democratic regime allied with South Vietnam. Still, it's a sad story that is repeated over and over again. The Vietnam War...it's a terrible tragedy that has touched so many lives.
Yes I believe after The V.C successfully invaded S.V, The pathet laos got full control of lao and turn the country into communist.

my direct family left in '79 to singapore, sailed with U.S. ships to Cali, and then moved to Midwest with many other of my parent's Vietnamese childhood neighbors/family. A few Uncles, aunts, and one grandparent still remain to live the traditional life in Vietnam.
I'm just proud that Western countries at least did something to help against communism. There are a few heros I heard of that are fighting communism around there today. something more needs to be done.
