How much oil and gas reserve does Vietnam have? I heard that they discover some oil and gas offshores, but don't really know how much.

Vietnam currently doesn't have an oil refinery. When is vietnam going to build a refinery so she can refine the crude oil?
Byron
Vietnam is the 3rd largest oil producer in Asia.

One oil refinery is under construction in Quang Ngai. Scheduled to be done by 2009. Another one is getting a permit to build, I think this location is around Baria-Vung Tau.

lol the amount of oil in Asia so far is very very small compared to that of the middle east to become rich. lol Better for Vietnam to rely on other things than oil for the economy.

Vietnam's future lies in a well diversified, flexible economy with a strong high tech component - like California's or Israel's.

I like that. Hate to see it become a manufacturing sweatshop.

I have a great admiration for the achievements of the major Western democracies - But then, I do have an ulterior motive: I firmly believe that Vietnam has the capability to achieve even more. Let's be aggressive and thorough about learning from them as we learned in another time from the achievements of the Chinese empire, and show to the world that the student can outperform the master and become a master in his own right.
