Let me start. When our shampoo bottle nearly runs out my mom fkn pour some water in to save money or somfin. That just pisses me off like you get all this runny $hit that you can hardly pour out on your hand. I don't know why she does that it doesn't save that much money anyway.

Not so weird but it really eggs me when it occurs. When your mother or father tells you something that is false and so you tell them it is wrong (and even bring them proof and put fourth logical arguement), they tell you that it is not your place to tell that that it is wrong because it is "disrespectful." Somehow, my parents are still stuck with that idea of demanding absolute obediance from their children. Their parents demanded it of them when they are young, and now they demand it of me. bawling.gif Well, it isn't really that bad now since I live away from home. But everytime I come home, icon_wink.gif it gets really annoying.

Quang,

That's just an old habit that she has kept from the old days. Your mom probably grew up from a time that Vietnam was poor and destitute. Saving money and not being wasteful were and still are virtues, not vices.

Learn to understand your mom and her culture.

Do your parents unreasonably push you to excel academically?

the thing that kinda piss me off is that my dad tend to side with my mom.. so when i did something that either of them dun approve.. then i'm in trouble.. 'cuz i can't u kno.. lol.. but they are kinda easy on us tho.. biggrin.gif
Nam Quoc Son Ha
LOL sometimes I have that problem too like Quang Bang has described. It doesn't bother me that much though coz I know it's just a thing that they do.

It's probably because I'm a young man now or something but they're not bossing me around anymore, I do whatever I want and they will let me do it, except for stuffs like taking drugs etc. However, their only demand is that I do well at uni and graduate with good grades.

Whoa this is funny, your families do that too (the shampoo thing)? It's just my mom that usually does that hehe so hilarious. I just laugh at her but doesn't bother me. icon_smile.gif
Let's see, some other things that are weird about my family...oh I got one. Do your parents cover cloth over the stereo or things in general to keep them from getting dusty??? Gosh, I hate that, I always take them off when my mom isn't looking but she always win though. sure.gif

Lol my grandma does that. When i was a kid over at her house i would just fiddle and scratch that thing off. She would get mad. And i also remember my grandma doing this weird meditation thing with me. She would place her hand on my forehead, close her eyes and sort of meditate. I was supposed to stay still for like a few minutes. I think it was some ritual to cure something. Does anyone know what that was???

Not that. They stress obediance more than excelling academically. I have my own drive for that. They told me they rather had strong moral son than one that possess great wealth but forget their parents and their roots. sure.gif It sounds great like communism does on paper, but in application it inflicts great horrors on the son. biggrin.gif

Actually all those things you mentioned my mother and father used to do. But now with our stable economic conditions, they laugh and shake their heads and shrug about those sort of things. In many ways, they have become Americanized.

Oh my turn my turn!
My mother is a compulsive laundry doer. Here's my favorite story. Keep in mind when this happened I was 25 years old, visiting home for Christmas.
So I'm at home freezing my bon bons off, and I go to sleep wearing sweats and thick socks.
So I'm sleeping right, and all of the sudden I keep feeling something at my feet. I glance at the clock its 3:30am. And I'm out of it. But something keeps touching my feet. Then I feel my sock being pulled off my feet.
I wake up and turn around and there is my mom holding the laundry basket pulling my socks off! I'm like MOM WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?
And she goes, "I HAVE TO DO LAUNDRY!! I NEED THOSE SOCKS!!"
I"m like yo, its 3:30am. she goes I need to wash them! and I go, "BUT I'M STILL WEARING THEM!" OMG. it was funny.
sigh

I agree with viettrung. except it's my dad being the liberal of enjoying "Amellica" of bling bling while my mom conserves soap into liquid, walks out of stores like she's going teepeeing, and talks about me getting rich jobs someday.

My momzy makes me carry in a bucket when i shower.. while i wait for the water to get warm, i chuck the bucket under it.. she uses it to water her plants.. not only saving water when we shower but even when she washes veggies.

She buys a $hit load of munchies because its "cheap" i then tell her its overdue or about to be.. so she makes me eat it then feeds it to my dog >.<

My dad bites on batteries when they're about to die.

Oh and when they go to all you can eat .. they fREAKIN ALL U CAN EAT + TAKE AWAY !

Bless my parents + family!

^ Have you ever seen one of your parents walk into the restroom while your other parent was in there?

I knew my dad was taking a dump, and then I just say my mom walk in there and start having a conversation.

My parents are fine.
I am currently living with my aunt for my education. She pisses me off all the time about everything. She tries to control me and I am freakin' 18. I usually cancel all my group studyings because of her. I have to call her everytime I get back or leave the house because I dont want her to start with "why are u late today?" "why didnt u call me?" . She always askes me a question that I think its stupid such as "Why do u have so many friends?" when everytime they come and pick me up. She often tell me "y du u go out too much? " (and the fact that I go out for once a month) and start comparing me to her daughters (they do sh!t behind her back) and... hmm I wont finish until 2morrow if i dont stop bawling.gif

I think it's called ingenuity. Frankly i think you're an idiot.

I do that too. People in my office do that too. When there's little soap left at the bottom of a container, the pump loses pressure so you put water in to get the rest of the soap. That's not CHEAP, it's ingenuity. Sometimes humility is better than being smartass.

I... unlike my family... understand that money is not the most important thing in the world. My family drives me bananas when they say it's the most important thing in the world!
SKT_Canada
When they compare me to my cousins. Actually isn't really weird as it makes me angry. We I was smaller I used to bath myself with a bucket...that's kinda strange i guess
