having read your post, i remember about international marriage that include japanese. in 80% of those marriage, japanese males choose foreign brides. japanese females rarely choose foreign males. regarding foreign brides, biggest share is held by chinese brides. the second is n/s korea. third is from the philippines. it seems to be tendency that rich country's male marry to poor (less rich)country's girl in international marriage sphere. your examples endorse my observation. thanks.

Compare this to Japanese, where 51.4% of their brides are married to another Japanese, and 4.3% marry other Asians. 35.5% marry a white, 1.6% marry a black and 2.2 marry hispanic/latinos.

As for Koreans, 69.5% marry another Korean, 2.4% marry another Asian. 23.5% marry a white guy, 1.7% marry a black and 1.2 marry a hispanic/latino.

Well just for the record, I have family who went to Japan as refugees and they still continue to live there and have kids that are borned there. I never heard any racial discrimination from them. There are actually lots of Vietnamese that live in Japan actually.

china and taiwan aren't sexy countries for weaterners. but japan and korea are sexy for them. japan has samrai, anime, manga, technologies, politeness and numberless cultural heritages. korea is now top it nation and k-pop is booming. however it comes to china and taiwan, they know nothing. china has actually its long history and rich heritages. however china has devastated them under the communist regime. now many of chinese rich people travel to japan, but reverse can't be said. that tells all.

the statistics describes japanese living in the us where japanese girl can mingle other races. the fact that many japanese girl marry to othe races proves their attraction. in other words, they are competitive while chinese girls aren't.

I have a much more positive view of Japan after the recent help that Japanese people offered to the Sichuan quake victims, and I belive this feeling of mine is shared by millions of chinese, maybe this will be a turning point in the sino-japan relationship.
