japan has done a lot to help in the development in cambodia. they have funded many projects such as the building of bridges, tourism, and education. also, i don't think that japan are doing this for their own interest. all they want from cambodia and the people is for them to make progress and they want to see cambodians preserve their own culture. japan is also helping out to preserve khmer culture.

Not just Cambodia, but also Vietnam, Laos.. basically most or all of ASEAN. J-ASEAN work to build better ties between the 11 counties.

The USA was in control of that from the beginning. After WWII, USA occupation did a lot of changes to Japan. The UN pushed new history text books to degrade militarism, to prevent any more war from Japan. The UN also, after Japan was 2nd in GNP, to help fund for lesser developed countries.

japan also helped s.korea and china. but they always use less visible manner. so some chinese and koreans see japan with hostility. that's definitely bad thing. they're like wrong children.

I dont think military propaganda was at this level since the war years. And even then, it was to Emperor reveration.
