Mama is a BK '54, Dada is a Southern gentleman, me--born in Sai Gon. I would like to say Sai Gon is the best but that would be bias, I'm sure there are other places in Viet Nam that deserve my attention so I would like to say the whole country.

LOL... no the heart of Vietnam is either Hanoi or Saigon. One is political and the other is economical. Don't over magnify Da Nang's significance... even though I think you want to... ahahaha

Good mix, best of both cultures. Do you speak southern or northern accent. Most south people can speak northern accent, no problem. It is much harder the other way.

My mum can speak like that lol, she speaks with a southern accent but if shes around too many people from the north, it slowly creeps back in.
Shes orginally from the north, my dad, around cental as well actually.

Well then it is not hard to sound Northern. Northern people are very poetic; they are smooth talkers alright. Probably how your father won your mother's heart. But southerners like to be plain and simple, just as the accent and a slight difference in language and vocab usage. Thus they tend to be seen more open and honest, without, the chinese language puts it nicely, guest's air (khach sao) (I think it is Chinese origin; I may be wrong)

Some of them taking it too far by putting z in everything and it comes out too guest air. I think a little mix of both is very good and correct too.

I speak Southern accent, but I like Northern better.
Also, I have no idea what Central sounds like, my dad adopted Southern when he moved to Saigon.
It depends where they're from, there is not really a Central accent. People from Quang Tri sound a lot different than from Hue or Qui Nhon

My mom is from Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh city as some would like to call it) and as for my dad...he's not Viet.
But anyways, my mom grew up in the country-side (where they still have a Southern accent) but after a few years, her family moved to Saigon because of my grandpa's job.
