basically spent too much time on video game w/o eating and sleeping and passed out. I have heard this before and seems like its getting common.

Theo Khoa săn sóc đặc biệt, bệnh nhân tới bệnh viện trong tình trạng đã ngưng thở, huyết áp bằng không, mạch quay không bắt được. Bệnh nhân không có tiền sử bệnh đặc biệt.

Gia đình Cường cho biết, anh chơi game online cả ngày 19/9, tối về nhà, chưa kịp ăn thì có bạn tới tìm, Cường đi chơi tiếp. Khoảng 1h ngày 20/9, Cường về nhà và chừng 10 phút sau thì ngất, gia đình lập tức chuyển đến bệnh viện cấp cứu.

Theo bác sĩ Nguyễn Hồng Trường, phụ trách Khoa săn sóc đặc biệt, gia đình không chắc chắn trước khi xảy ra đột quỵ Cường có ăn gì không. Bác sĩ Trường cũng phán đoán, rất có khả năng bệnh nhân chơi game nhiều, cơ thể mệt mỏi do nhịn ăn, dẫn tới não bị tổn thương nặng như vậy.

Bác sĩ Trường cho biết thêm, hiện rất khó xác định khi nào bệnh nhân phục hồi. Huyết áp và mạch của bệnh nhân đã ổn định nhưng vẫn hôn mê sâu, phải thở bằng máy, không có cảm giác, kể cả khi bị cấu véo vào người. Dự kiến, nếu thoát khỏi hôn mê sâu, bệnh nhân có thể phải sống thực vật. Cường là bệnh nhân đầu tiên nhập Khoa săn sóc đặc biệt với nguyên nhân bệnh lý như trên.

no, i'll be sad, but then i'd still think hes an idiot if hes one of my relatives. I'd beat the $hit out of him once he gets out of the comma for having the family worried so much. I seriously think most of the world is stupid if they can become addicted to games like that. If games were so easily addicted woudln' there be more cases of death due to too much gaming then? These are rare cases, and the "victims" of these cases are just weak minded.

there are tons of online games which every second matters....
sure this guy may be weak minded...
but he wanted to win, not be left behind, always ahead in the virtual world.

like for ex. a game which characters can find items, playing longer increases chances to find valuables... , something gamers are proud of.

this guy got too obsessed though.

I agree that this guy is "stupid". but comparing this to a gambler is two different thing. this guy probably in his room alone and played to death but at least a gambler has someone watch over him, either the dealer or people watching. but I think both kind are stupid.

You thinka dealer or someone else cares about a gambler? the longer a gambler stays means more revenue to the casino. Why do you think there are no clocks in the casino at all? its to keep the people there longer.

I feel sorry for people like, they have gotten so addicted that they've lost touch with reality. Actually i dont, haha, they've made conscious decision to be like that, that dude deserves being in a coma for being such a dumbass.
I used to play game too, but i sticked to Aristotle's Golden Mean, so its all good.
I wonder how he does it though. After 3 hours, your throat starts drying up, your stomach starts grumbling, eyes drooping, and you feel darn exhausted. I think i know what he was thinking "thirst, hunger, tireness, its all in your head, the only thing that is real is me getting 10 more levels in the next two days, i can do!", well too bad its vice versa.
