Tet Trung Thu is usually a day for children. It usually took place after the harvest so that parents have an excuse to play with their children. Mooncakes and colorful laterns characterize this holiday. By the way good mooncake is sooo expensive. $5 for a 2 inch. diameter mooncake.

People eat mooncakes once a year, no wonder it's so expensive. Anyone into mooncake's business? 2

MOON Cake

When i was young and poor, Trung Thu meant a lot to me, even if we didn't have only half a moon cake. Now, I can afford all the mooncake I want but... Innocence and simple has gone away . Atmosphere , wealth has taken away this taste for simple things...

Dont know what Trung Thu is exactly about, but when i was young it meant once a year i'd get lanterns e from coke cans, bit of string and a twig... now its just another day.

too tired from work to think about it. It is just another day here. work, work, and work. There is no end to cycle.

Hay man, it's not really "CHINESE" new years, it's "LUNAR" new years. Get your $hit right before you reply. The reason we have the same new years date is because we ALL follow the Lunar calender. Just because the stereotype out there states that it's "CHINESE" new years and not "LUNAR" new years doesn't mean other nationalities can't celebrate lunar new years.

if we are stupid then Vietnam wouldnt be Vietnam now, it would be a city of China and the people would be speaking Chinese or even we kicked the Chinese out and if we are stupid, we would be speaking chinese and writing in chinese charaters. And everything we do is "Chinese"

who cares , celebrating holidays are fun and it help brings family together, that is what matter....and oh yeah you get to eat

Trung Thu reminded me of my childhood. I missed the star and helicopter lanterns that my older brother made for me when I was a little boy.
I like the moon cake with shark fin in it.

Lunar calendar is not invented by China. A lot of civilisations in tis world follow the lunar calendar including Vietnam. Even if mooncakeis chinese I 'm unsure about the origin of Trung Thu .

err the chiense have the richest and most advance civilazation at the time and the so called viet people were jus munching on dogs there is no way a country like vietnam came up with the idea of the chinese lunar system. ERR moon cake is from china u cant lie to your self and say it is not.

Trung Thu was invented by the Yue (Viet) people. So back off. Chinese is the most advance civiliation...yeah right. Chinese were weak and lost to the Japanese War. They almost lost the South China.
