I've learned about this when i was in estonia. It is said that Soviets also invaded manchuria, japananese occupied lands and killled about 30,000 japanese civilians, including the japanese soldiers and also the chinese. Soviets kept advancing through south untill the northern part of Korea (North Korea) present time, and South korea was already occupied by the american forces.

My question is, does japanese people know that people who were in southern parts of china were brutually excuted by the soviet army? If the soviets could have invaded northern parts of japan, japan probably've in situation just like North and South korea.

Many probably do not know. But they would know more about when the north koreans slaughtered all of those japanese civilians during their conflict with south korea. Details like that about world war two most japanese will not know.

As for splitting japan. I doubt the americans would have allowed that. Because they had extensive plans for japan not to mention they did most of the battles.

The japanese military and things of that type were forced back into japan. These were mostly civilians living in south korea.

I never heard Korean slaughtered japanese. Even yes, the amount are too small compare to the japanese done to the WW2. And I say they deserve it if they really slaughtered Japanese.

I have no doubts that the Soviets could have invaded Japan. The Americans got their first. But just imagine if the Soviets were the ones that invaded, or shared a role in accepting Japanese surrender. Asia would be a very different place.


Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. I certainly believe that Japan was not punished enough myself but I know there is not much that can be done today since the event took place 60 years ago.

Yes we are all intitled to our opinions. Actually to tell you the truth I thought he came from the cna because he slightly reminds me of "nukethejap". That is the main reason why I accused him. But he is a different person I believe.
