i came upon this thought when i was at local praise night with fellow asian christians. i looked around and there weren't many vietnamese or chinese at that praise night...or come to think of it any other. it was mostly koreans, japanese and some filipinos.

it made me really sad to see that...to see that most chinese and vietnamese youth havent found God and Jesus Christ. after that i wondered why...i mean, koreans and japanese each had buddhism and shinto as their national religions but they found God in the end...not only here in America but back in their own countries as well.

but vietnamese youth and elders...i dont know about some other areas, but here and some places in cali i have been to...there are so very few vietnamese churches...either people go to the temple or nowhere at all. they have nothing to guide them through life...they dont know about God's love. why? are they so unwilling to learn...or is there just no one to tell them?

WTF are you talking about? why don't you research before the speak as if yo know the vietnamese population. Check on the number of vietnamese catholics in vietnam and in america. filipinos are no doubt mainly christian/catholics, but you are comparing vietnamese and japanese? are you even vietnamese? if you aren't then you should do some research, but if you are viet, i'm pretty sure you are not vietnamese-catholic.

Jesus never actually try to convert his people. Certainly, he show a good example of being a good Christian for others to follow, but certainly not wondering why this group is a Christian or why this group is not a Christian, and certainly not just saying quotes because it said so. I pity you if you're a Christian. Jesus was not a Christian. He was a Jew. There was no Christianity during Jesus's time assuming the man actually existed. Christianity was formed much later.

The Vietnamese never accepted Catholicism because its doctrine is contradictory to the Vietnamese tradition. For example, the dragon is the symbol of greatness to the Vietnamese. Ancestor worship is a sacred tradition that preceded even Buddhism but Buddhism is accepted because it's compatible with the Vietnamese's way of life. The Catholic church FORBID ancestor worship for several hundred years. The Catholic church only allowed Vietnamese Catholics to worship their ancestors some time in the mid to late 80s. But most importantly, the Catholics were never strong enough to beat the Vietnamese into submission. Catholicism was spread by a great war machine of the West that was lubricated by the blood of mostly non-white people.

Also, Vietnamese have seen many "Thiên Tử" (sons of God) and they're all mortal beings. Besides, we have no respect for a "God" that sexually assaulted a woman (Mary) and force another man (Joseph) to raise someone else's child.

By the way, I'm an atheist from a Buddhist background. I'm too smart even for Buddhism, let alone Christianity.

P.S. I believe Vietnam has the second biggest Catholic population in South East Asia, only after the Philipines. But don't be fooled by the number. A lot of them converted to Catholicism during the scum Ngo Dinh Diem's regime because they were starving and if they wanted government assistance, they had better be Catholics. Come to think of it, the only reasons Catholicism spread in Vietnam was because the European missionaries carried a big stick to beat the Vietnamese or they hung a carrot at one end of that big stick when they were not beating the starving Vietnamese.

I'm not a big fan of Christianity because its a tool used and continue to be used by Western countries to spread its horrible influence over the world. I'm not too sure about other Vietnamese, but when I go to Vietnam I see Buddhist, Hoa Hao, Cao Dai and other temples which look very nice, but when I see Churhes it just makes me sick. Christianity was one of the reasons why Vietnam was colonise by those French mottherf##kers.

Unlike some religions, Christianity uses violence as a way to spread its influence and the followers are often white Europeans seeking to rule this world. So if I have a choice between a bullet in the head or convert to Christianity, I would definitely go for the bullet in the head because as a Vietnamese, I vow never to bow to the white people and their ideas. Why? Because there is no other "GOD" but my ancestors who defended Vietnam from the evils of the west.

Anyway, I think the Vietnamese government should spend less time trying to stop AIDS, bird flu etc. and try harder to stop a disease which is more contagious then all disease put together, and that is Christianity.

The funniest thing when I was younger was how some my buddies hated white people. They would say things that were very racist. But I was invited to church for Christmas and decided to go for the experience. It felt wierd. Angels with white faces, a white man who they were all kneeling too. It was great. lol hahaha

Christians were the direct descendants of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve had children. Their children committed incest with one another and have more babies. Most babies died as a result of diseases associated with inbreeding. Those that did not die went on to commit incest with one another and produced more babies. 'nuf said.

I don't like how people relate religion with culture. Just because we are chinese or viets does not have anything to do with being buddhist or whatever, and not being christians. Just because someone is white does not mean he or she shouldn't be a buddhist. Stop relating regilion with culture or history! It's about finding the "right" religion for you and one you truly think is the right path of life.

Many people are also having the perception that Jews are supposed to be of Russian, Spaniard, or Arab descent and they seem to be surprised that there are Jews of Black or Asian descents.
