I'm trying to figure out when to visit Vietnam, but I really don't know when to visit. The typical weather that I would like to live in is around the 60-70 degrees fahrenheit (15-20 degrees celsius), though temperatures in the 80s fahrenheit (26 celsius) would be perfectly fine (anything would be better than the below-freezing temperature in Boston and Philadelphia). I'm not too aware of the climate in Vietnam, other than it being pretty hot. When would you recommend a trip to Vietnam?

I'm only speaking of places which i'm familiar of ( the nothern part of Vietnam). Usually, the temperature would be around 17-25 from November to March biggrin.gif

Tet is pretty cool in Saigon. January to February, because of the weather and festives..

Go during winter, it's not that cold "thoi tiet rat mat" at least in Hanoi anyway. I was there several times and everytime i went was during the winters. I don't recommend going in the Summer b/c it is so hot and humid especially in Saigon, I can not stand the weather there...

And it rains.

The best time to visit is anytime. beerchug.gif

During Tet always fun... and if you worry about the temperature, all hotel limit their AC to 70 deg (energy saving)... make sure let the hotel know you are a Viet or else you have to pay tourist price. biggrin.gif

Oh... almost forget... when you go outside... it's always hot, sticky hot and dusty hot or damn even Tarzan would die in this heat... don't worry... little sweat is good for you. biggrin.gif

Obviously the best time to go back is the time of Tết Nguyên Ðán.
