Wait, isn't le prive the one where you have to know the waiters to get in and you have to pay them to bring girls to your table? I'd hate to go to a club like that.

Do you have to know the waiters to get in? In my case, a high school friend is a DJ there and a friend's brother-in-law happened to be friends with the owner [he didn't use that connection though since he didn't want to bother him]. I don't know if the connection with the DJ was made, since I only found out yesterday. no idea.

Girls get booked by the male spectators upstairs, which made me somewhat uneasy. The waiter grabs you by the arm and takes you upstairs. I came down within 10 minutes; didn't want to mingle with unfamiliar males.

but i liked the scene; i had a lot of fun. :]

also.. some of the guys there are aggressive I've noticed.

I'd stay away from the "mainstream" white and black clubs.

Why? Cuz if you're an Asian guy with a white or latina girl, the black or white guy will intentionally interfere with your conversation with your girl and pretend that you don't exist. This happened to a friend of mine when he entered a club with a hot looking white girl. A punk loser black guy just walks up to his girlfriend, starts a conversation, even made ching-chong slurs which made him look even more like a jerk! LOL.

ANyhow, just be careful when you go clubbing. Black and white males are literally animals!

hahaha. BahDukePlayer. Your story was pretty funny. But yea, I could see guys doing that, although if you confront them im sure they'll back down. I find white and black guys dont like to fight unless they have 2000 friends with them. Anyways, Vanguard is a real nice club friday nights. Mainly asian, or rather almost all asians. Get there early if you dont know the promoters though...otherwise you are going to stand in line forever. Or if people on here don't know any promoters, I can try to get you guys in the weekends I go.... since the girl im dating knows like everyone lol. Don't go to dv8.... not that great. Day After, highlands, ivar is decent on saturdays.

Yes, I am a promoter and yes I am being biased, but I do consider us to throw the Best Asian and Multi-Raced Parties in Hollywood.

We are having a BIG @$$ Party on August 5th @ Garden of Eden. Anyone need to be on the guestlist just shoot out a PM and I'll get you guys on there no problem.

But to show you my unbiased side.. I'll tell you the ups and downs of the clubs in Hollywood.

1.) Garden of EDEN - Held by The House of GLAM on Saturdays (thehouseofglam.com) my promoting company for the Hollywood Area.

Pros - Garden has always been known to attract the more attractive crowd whether we were throwing the party or not.. there's always hot girls at Garden. Its a very nice venue with a huge smoking patio and a huge dance floor. There are 4 - 5 bars in the club and 1 outside on the patio.. so its easy to get your drinks. The VIP lounge is huge and it has an overview of the club b/c its upstairs which is always nice. And parking is easily accessible.. except for the huge speedbump in the front for all you lowered car ppl.

Cons - The dance floor is right next to the front entrance, so it can get to be a nuisance. The lines at Garden are always LONG as hell and ppl seem to crowd the area a lot b/c at the back of the line you don't really get a view of any part of the club so you don't know what the hell is going on. It can get crowded.

2.) VANGUARD - Held by Visionshock Entertainment on Fridays (visionshock.com) another large promoting company for the Hollywood Area.

Pros - Huge and Nice venue => Large Crowds => A LOT of Girls and Guys... Smoking Patio is Huge as well as the dance floor. Easy and Affordable Vallet.

Cons - The Crowd seems to be more on the ghetto side. I see a lot of thugsters or wannabes at that club. Since it is a HUGE venue it gets REALLY crowded, and I mean REALLY crowded... the bars are a lil slow with their service but it could be due to the amounts of people there. LONG @$$ LINES.

3.) Level 3 - hosted by ??? on ???.

Pros - Its a fairly large venue very nice looking inside. Has a Huge Sit down area where you can mingle with other clubbers and have a great convo. The dance floor is reasonable and the decor of the place is pretty nice IMO. Cover is fairly affordable.

Cons - Line is Ridiculously slow... the Smoking patio is small and almost impossible to get too b/c u go through this narrow hall. There's only 2 bars that i saw and one is ridiculously small.

4.) Cabana Club - hosted by Random Groups on Random Dates

Pros - AWESOME DECOR... its a very miami style club. Has a Huge outside patio with a huge outside bar over a Moat. Lots of Tables. Inside is Large and roomy with a reasonable sized dance floor. Lots of tables inside as well. Very Nice looking club everyone seems to like it when they go. The parking structure down the street provides ample amounts of parking. Drinks are reasonable.

Cons - it can get ridiculously crowded, and the dance floor is not big enough to hold everyone.

5.) Day After - hosted by Random Groups on Random Dates

Pros - Nice Venue.. has TWO LARGE Bars and 1 outside bar. The dance floor is huge, and the VIP section is in a nice location.

Cons - Parking is expensive. Bouncers are pretty anal. Drinks are pretty expensive, bring cash b/c if u use credit they usually jip you on the tips.

6.) Ivar - heard its going down and down and down lol...

7.) Forbidden City - Small Venue usually doesn't attract too many asians a lot of African-Americans.

8.) Avalon - Used to be an old theatre now turned into a club.

Pros - HUGE DANCE FLOOR w/ a HUGE STAGE... Drinks are pretty cheap there. Avalon also has an after-hour club called Spider club which is really popular, and flipping nice.. Has a crazy @$$ sound system where it almost beats your heart for you.

Cons - Small tables ... Other than the Dance Floor nothing else is really impressive. Parking is expensive it can go from 10 - 60 dollars sometimes ... 10 if u get there early 60 if they don't like u.

9.) Mood - Thursdays hosted by The House of GLAM

Pros - Mood is actually a club frequented by a lot of A-listed Celebrities, but those nights are usually Wednesday nights b/c only Rich ppl can party on Weds lol. But the club is very cozy. A good amount of Tables and it only has 2 large bars which is efficient enough to serve everyone. The crowd that goes there are usually the kick back relaxing type.

Cons - Parking = 20 bucks. The dance floor is kinda small so it can get crowded. Drink prices are a lil more on the expensive side and they require u to tip or they won't service u again. 1 throw up and your out of the club.

10.) V20 is in long beach heard good things about it, except the crowd is pretty ghetto so i've heard.

11.) Le Prive is expensive and too many FOBS... but if thats what you like then be my guest.

These are just a few off the top of my head, I'll update once I know some more.. Hope this helps out any of you with Club questions.

Holy shmokes! You know of Vanguard nightclub??!!!!! I use to go there with my friends on certain weekends (whenver I had no exams or no studying to do) while I attended Pomona. This was like four or five years ago. Sigh, good memories.

I no longer am in LA, but on the East Coast. The clubs here suck, and are full of white girls who are the typical New England snobby girls. Then there are hip hop clubs which my Puerto Rican friend took me to, but I was not too interested in the girls at that club.

Nah, not a problem buddy. I also get angry when white or black guys think they can act like their $hit doesn't stink and f_ck around with us. Black guys can't even fight by themselves, unless they're with a group of people. However, when I've been to clubs, even to hip-hop clubs, I never had any problems with the black guys. Maybe because the club was packed ith black girls, and I have little interest in dating black girls.

You are right though, some of these punks have knives or guns, so yeah, my friend did the best thing to not screw around with those losers. At least my friend has a life, and is now in law school. Those punks, they have no life and could care less if they murder somebody and go to jail for that.

Which part of the US did you attend high school? Los Angeles area? For some reason, I can't stand some of the people in SoCal. They seem kind of annoying to me.
