mikeyboi
No conflict, no dis-agreement, she a nice one icon_rolleyes.gif
I love her songs and the way she sings (nice nice voice)

note: did you know that she was discovered in Vietnam; and that she was formally a school teacher. she was singing to the kids one day and a scout (ie. producer) who was touring Vietnam (from the company ASiA) asked her to sign a contract.

Thus here she is ...

Really?

Dead serious man. She was pretty young when she was discovered. She's totally got a nice voice and I guess that's what caught people's attention. Vietnam, don't under-estimate it ... biggrin.gif

She didn't look exactly like her. Just similar. Nhu Quynh is about a 8.5 (out of 10) on my chart. My ex was only about 6.75.

Are you kidding me? A Viet girl dating a Chinese guy is NO NO in Vietnamese society due to history. biggrin.gif embarassedlaugh.gif

Vietnamese girls are programmed to love Chinese food, movies only not Chinese guys. biggrin.gif

Why did you guys break up? Just curious.......

I guess all three of my Vietnamese ex-girlfriends weren't informed about that rule then.

The one that looks like Nhu Quynh? Mostly cultural differences. I think it's perfectly fine for me to date non-Chinese girls casually, but if I were to be in a serious relationship, I need to be with someone who grew up with a similar background. I don't believe I'm being prejudice, afterall, I've dated all sorts of girls in the past, even non-Asian girls. I guess after a couple failed relationship, you tend to learn your lessons. icon_smile.gif

I think she okay, Some of her picture makes her look better than she is. But in those Paris by Night video she average not jaw-dropping.
Not to be rude or anything is she ALL real?? like her eyes or nose?
Or she mixed?
I am NOT here to say Viet can't be naturally beautiful but there just something about her facial features that makes me ask if she fake or mix.
herosword
Are you sure about her discovery in Vietnam? I have a distant friend who lived in Pennslyvania and who knew her before she was famous. They were schoolmates. Can I see the site where you found this fact about her being found by a scout in Vietnam...

I used to love Nhu Quah song and still do but ever since she switched from Asia to Paris by Night, my interest for her has declined, though I still listen to her old songs. The things she sings now just doesn't touch me and are intended for an older people. I totally agree, she is a beauty. She's not hot but compensate with grace and class. I like Thang Truc more now.

In Chinese Society (at least the more traditional type), men like girls with light skin. It is supposed to symbolize a more 'high-class aristocratic' life for the girl because wealthier women don't work in the sun. This is the same for Korean and Japanese. I have a Korean friend who thinks she'll get a tan by staying out 5 minutes in the sun.

But nowadays, Western modern culture praises girls to be darker skinned because they make it seem like it is a 'healthy tan'. I don't disagree because I also find girls a tint to be slightly more attractive.

I don't usually stereotype.. but I find Nhu Quynh to be very 'Vietnamese' looking. She's got the nice eyes that most Vietnamese celeberties have. Don't ask me why.

I met her last year....she's really nice...n hella pretty in real life
WhoAmI
icon_smile.gif she's so beautiful and very elegant. i like that. love2.gif

about the skin tone. i like southern chinese and vietnamese skin tone the best. nice hint of gold color. not dark but not pale either. icon_smile.gif ive seen other asians with this kind of skin tone too though. it just more common in vietnamese i think.

You all mentionned of "traditional Viet". I am interested in your explanation of what that means.

NQ is pretty and has indeed a very good voice, but she is not anywhere near this girl's caliber.

DragonMP
You and I obviously have different tastes.

i see my taste is very different from yours..

I guess Nhu Quynh has the "co' Ha^.u" face.. and her long graceful black hair makes her image looks more traditional

You mean phúc hậu right?

nobody knows really o.o vietnamese eyes can be that big.. i know for a boy my eyes are almost like that ... :P

And Hai mi is very usual for a vietnamese... well at least in my extensive family
Doan Du
Hai mi' is actually quite rare among Viet women.
