Although my silence would serve others well, I have to speak my piece in regards to this whole AF/WM drivel because I’m tired of reading all this nonsense as are others I assume.

Such hackneyed conceptions concerning interracial relationships between AF’s and WM’s and vice versa never seems to cease with this forum and hopefully there will be no more. The fact of the matter is that no one simply cares except for individuals such as gesturer who apparently lacks any form of social experiences himself, such to leading him to be a pompous, arrogant, condescending brute who formulates opinions, or perhaps lack thereof of his own, from statistics and studies with much unwarranted speculation.

Yes, there are those who do have aberrant patterns in forming relationships with that of only a certain race, call it a preference or a fetish what have you, but the majority just tend to like certain individuals for who they are regardless of race. If I, an Asian female, were to be placed in a predominately white environment, in which only a few minorities reside, I will most likely end up with a non-Asian. If perchance I were to find myself in an environment in which Asians seem to predominate, then I will most likely end up with someone of my own race. The term “sellout” seems to be used by those who cannot associate with those of their own culture or race, and once again this likely arises from jealousy. Yes, individuals such as gesturer are a disgrace to Asians, and a sorry excuse for an American for that matter or even a person at that, but you guys are just fueling his ego, because apparently the more you argue with the guy, the more highly he thinks of himself.

In other words, stop with the AF/WM b.s.

Right on. I asked my mom why she married a white guy and she showed me her high school yearbook. No asian guys, 2 other asian females. She said all the asian guys she met on the street where jerks so she had to choose the best white guy. Now this area is hella asian

Shouldn't this be considered a personal topic. Seems directed at gesture. I don't disagree or agree with you but like jasel said this isn't going to help and trust me it's going to turn into another 4 page argument. You know the best thing to do when people annoy you? Ignore them.

Also i think the interracial threads haven't been as frequent as they used to.

Actually, I’m not trying to justify dating a white guy as I am not, nor have I ever, because during my adolescent years, being the close-minded person that I was, I secluded myself within a group of Asians, walking around as if I were better than everyone because of the sudden onset of pride in being Korean. It wasn’t until college that I realized how stupid I had been for doing so, but I don’t essentially live in regret for taking such actions because through it I kind of got more in touch with my Korean side and was able to relate to them on more of a cultural level since we were all just second generation kids whose parents came from a different country. Now that I’m in an area where I hardly see any Asians at all, all my friends are white and like one girl who’s a Flip and it’s not by choice, it’s just based on the environment that I am put in and who I get along with. Besides, I enjoy being independent and it’s difficult for me to get emotionally attached to people so I’m not that big on committed relationships, therefore friendships are as far as I will go, so my point is that I am not standing up for myself or others in an interracial relationship, I’m just simply stating that the sellout crap needs to stop, and plus I really dislike pathetic, nerdy little asian kids who come on here and make a mockery of themselves with all the small talk. And as for the people who constantly reply to his irrational arguments, you’re just pushing his posts up to the top leaving more people to read them, so I agree with ignoring the topics.

As for the girl who made a post on how her parents disapprove of her being in an interracial relationship, I didn’t read the replies so I don’t know how that went, but IMO the father nor the daughter are at fault. In defense of the dad, he grew up in a different country, a different time period, therefore he himself has been instilled with certain values and ideas as to why his children should intermarry within their race, although I never knew Asian parents could be so conservative to the point where they will disown their children, so there is only so much that I can understand because my own parents personally don’t care about race. It really isn’t out of love for his daughter, but his pride that gets in the way and perhaps he will loosen up a bit as times goes by. The girl is not at fault either and would not be “dishonoring” her family and is not doing it to disrespect her father as she clearly must like the person she is with. What to do in that kind of situation? Just go for it, stay with the guy, and eventually your family will have to give in although it may take some time and understanding.

Well, I don’t intend to partake in this section of the forum so ramble on people…..

Not quite like that where I live. You rarely see a Vietnamese/Danish couple although there are only 11.000 Viets and 5 million Danes in this country. (yeah, tiny, tiny place) Especially Vietnamese girls are known to be impossible get, even those born here, cause most stick to guys from their own race.

Obviously interracial dating is a "problem" people encounter so it's only natural that it's a hot topic. I don't think you can avoid it until the day no one considers it strange anymore.
Shouldn't other kids have the opportunity to come to the same conclusion? I think a forum like this is the perfect place for these sort of discussions and perhaps you can even from others' point of view. But let's face it, it's much easier to avoid the particular threads than hoping people will stop talking about it...
