South Vietnam was democracy when they were fighting with the VC and at the time , it was richer than Korea and Hong Kong , but after the VC took over , thanks to the communist , VN is dirt poor now .... why dont u give example like USA , England , Germany , Japan, South Korea. If u love comunist so bad, but dont discourage other people to get rid of those scums , democracy , freedom is always better than a fuc-king dictator gov't
About $30 billion/year in financial aid from US would definitely make South Vietnam a rich country. The US wouldn't have sent $30 billion/year to South Vietnam if it wasn't for the VC. Beside the South Vietnam wasn't really a democratic govt. back then. It was more like a pseudo democratic govt. (Dictatorial).
Germany and Japan benefited greatly from Marshall Plan. Japan also benefited greatly from Korean War. South Korea also benifited greatly from Korean and Vietnam War and their economic success was started by a dictator (Park Chung-Hee).
Most of the successful Asian countries we know today, their economic success were started by dictatorial govt.
In conclusion, democracy might or might not help Vietnam today. The one thing that will sure help Vietnam is if there is a Muslim terrorist base near by and Vietnam is fighting it. The US will surely send a few billions to help.
