Full Version: Vietnam/India and Pakistan/China Discussion
What are the pros and cons of these two alliances? Please share your inputs.
Superficially they are kind of similar I guess -- China and India each supporting a culturally similar, smaller sized rival of the other.
But I think China and Vietnam do not have the level of antagonism between Indian and Pakistan, and there is much more real world cooperation and cultural connection. We don't have anything like the religious rivalry or the massive dispute like Kashmir (where millions of people of one culture live under the oppressive rule of another). In comparison China Vietnam dispute is like a kindergarden argument.

Speaking of Kashmir, you forget about the Paracel and Spratly Islands (Hoang Sa and Truong Sa in Vietnamese).
