this might be old but it might be new to someone. what you think of apsara nude art by reahu?

degrading or art?

i want to give my opinion. first i want to ask is the orgin of apsara is nude? topless? bare breast? im not sure thats why i ask but it seems to me yes their orgin is bare breast. why i think that? is cause look at the stone scuplture shows nude and look at the people that performs a play as apsara.... they wear beige color top as if it is blended to the skin color to look nude. they cant just be nude since they are only human. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCjv0iAUCTo...feature=related

alright now if my guest is true that the orgin of apsara have always been nude then i want to say that NOTHING WRONG WITH REAHU'S NUDE APSARA ART! since he is just pictured the apsara as their prime-image.... thats how apsara supose to look like.... bare breast. they shows bare breast so why cant a man paint a bare breast art of apsara?


say a succubus orgin is to seduce men into sexual pleasure.... if western censors that part.... it would not be called a succubus.

What they complain about is that those images are usually erotic. The pose, the storytelling are focus on the fact that they are nude with eroticism.
That's not the Apasras are about. Apsaras were about beauty and grace, his pictures were depicted with eroticm.

Plus the models he uses were pretty much Pornstars. Some times the picture looks like cutouts but edited.
Actually i dont believe he is a painter, more like a graphic artist. He takes elements from other artwork, edit, and make to khmer,

if you look up frank frazetta, boris valleyo and Gerald Brom you will find tons of elements that he may have taken. and who knows where else

i see what you saying. so he just a digital editor artist. he collected art/image from elsewhere and edit it and make changes which born his unique creation. dont he get sued by the original author of the arts? but still his edit work was so good.

now take that part aside. if he created an art of apsara revealing bare breast from scratch.... all from ground up.... all his own imagination... all his own art and his own 100% work, would you think it is acceptable to cambodia?

Difficult to say. Normally Apsaras never wear anything in top. You can see it on every temple. And more hundred years ago, khmer woman don't wear anything on top. Thats a part of our history. Problem is the christians in our country, come to missionate us.

Dont missunderstood - I like no nudity but this is a part of history. To say its not happens means we forget ourselfs and our culture.
