Let me expand what "my" definition includes for first generation Vietnamese. Sorry, for the confusion. What I am looking for is any Vietnamese parents born in Vietnam that now are raising children here in the U.S. Since, due to the lack of response, if no one here meets my definition of first generation Vietnamese I will gladly take responses from any parents that are Vietnamese as long as they have children ages 5-11. Also, maybe you aren't a parent, but have parents or know parents that fit the desciption I am looking for. If they would like to help, feel free to pass this on to them. Please see the questions following.

If you want to participate, but only have time for one question, that is fine. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at supercat19@hotmail.com

Thanks,

1) Raising your child in the rapidly changing and increasingly complex world today is quite a challenge. What are the most important skills and moral and ethical values that you feel are essential for your child to learn in order to function as a successful adult in the future?

2) Today, many experts are saying that Television, Video Games and some Movies can cause children to become anti-social. Do you agree? How much television does your child watch in an average day and do you place limits on the types of movies, video games, and Television programs your child is exposed to?

3) In the aftermath of September 11th and as a result of continuing terror alerts, there has been much talk in newspapers, on television, in classrooms and among families of the potential for further terroist attack. Is your child aware of the events of September 11th? Also, does the daily talk of potential terrorist attacks and war in Iraq upset your child? How do you answer questions and/or quiet the fears of your children about these issues?

Thanks....tickitavi icon_smile.gif

The majority of the Vietnamese in this forum do not have children, better to try other forums of a slightly older generation.
PM for the url if needed.
