I prefer Vietnamese spring rolls. Not to be confused with egg rolls, that you fry. I like the ones with the rice wrap and you dip it in water and roll it and put Vietnamese noodles, fish, Vietnamese vegetables, and dip it into fish sauce and eat it.
Plus since it isn't fried but water based, it's healthy as well.

In my humble opinion, an appropriate face off should be: Pho and Bun Bo Hue. They are soups. One is much more spicy than the other. They both take much work and a lot of time to cook. They come from 2 distinct regions of Vietnam. In the region where I live, bun bo hue has become very trendy and a number of restaurants have opened up serving only it. At lunch time, the wait sometimes can be as long as 15 min for a table. If you are particular, the bun bo hue can be very complex to the palate and can involve deep analysis for the taste buds.

Its gotta be pho. I love eating pho but I hate the after effects I get after eating it. I usually get very tired and thristy after. Must be the MSG.

I'm sure I would rather eat rice everyday then Pho. Pho tastes better but I don't think its something I would want to eat everyday though.

Comments? Yes that seems like a more appropriate face off and I've been unable to sleep knowing that I voted against the staple com...which also means food in tieng viet...but at any given moment pho might seem more appealing...bun bo is a bit spicy but it sure is great! tat ca com viet vi gioi! give me sugar and fish sauce!
