This is the second time. If it happens the third time, I wonder how Vietnam government will react? confused.gif

If you let a person slap you one time, what do you do?

If you let a person slap you two times, what do you do?

If you let a person slap you three times, what do you do?

China talks about peaceful resolution on one hand but behaves aggressively on the other hand.

How can Vietnam sit still while China is bullying her?

I'm really upset at all this FAKE peaceful talk of China. Since when did China ever keep her words? Since when did China ever be truthful at all when it comes to these issues?

I don't think Chinese citizens even know how wrong their government's acts are...They will keep supporting their government anyway...

This is what the Russian captain said about the last incident

QUOTE
VietNamNet Bridge - The exploration ship Binh Minh 2, whose cable was cut by a Chinese vessel last week, returned to Nha Trang Port yesterday after completing seismic surveys in Vietnam’s territorial waters.

Alexander Belov, the Russian captain of the ship, spoke about the incident.

Have you ever seen anything like this case in which three Chinese vessels hindered the operations of the Binh Minh 2 and destroyed its equipment while it was operating in Vietnam’s territorial waters?

I have never seen such a case before and I hope [it] will be the last for me. The encounter was an experience for me. Normally, in such cases, marine surveillance ships will seek ways to communicate with us instead of destroying our equipment, which is an illegal action, since we were operating in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone.

What did you do to when the Chinese ships moved in?

I first tried to communicate with them and asked them to keep away from our equipment. I then heard them say that we had to leave the area since we had violated China’s sovereignty. We replied to them that the issue should be let to competent officials to resolve, but they continued to run after us. Finally, one of the three Chinese vessels cut our cables. We continued our voyage and called the company’s office for instructions on what we should do to recover the lost equipment to mitigate the damage.

As a person who has been at sea for long, what do you think about the seriousness of the incident?

This is a very serious incident, one in which they [the Chinese] were well aware of what they did. They came to destroy our equipment.

You have worked in many countries in the world. Have you ever witnessed such a violation of sovereignty?

Never. We were operating in Vietnam’s territorial waters when the Chinese ships came. That was very abnormal.

As a citizen of a sovereign country, what is your comment about the incident?

I think it is unacceptable. It is unbelievable to me that such a destruction has occurred. But I have actually witnessed it with my own eyes and I felt loathing for it.

What do you have to say about the Vietnamese side’s behavior?

I think that the case was handled rather well[by the Vietnamese side]. The crew and the ship are safe and there was not too much damage to our equipment.

Will you continue to work in Vietnam?

Yes, surely, since I have a contract. I [also] like working here.

After they slap you three times and you don't do anything, they will rape you three times.

Cutting cable is very easy task.

You making yourself vulnerable dragging that cable so long.

China already said NO unilateral exploration, period.

If you want exploration ,we open for negotiation.

Freakin Vietnam already earning 25% of GDP from extracting oil in South China Sea. That's highway robbery. Enough is Enough.

We are not afraid of you. We have been fighting you for over 2,000 years and will continue to do so if you want to bully us.

You have Bruce Lee. We also have Cung Le.

How can it be robbery when it's WITHIN Vietnam's Exclusive Economic Zone?

Does anyone complain when China extracts resources from her land and water?

China is allowed to do whatever she wants within her territory and Vietnam can't? Why this double standard? What a hypocrite.

The next time China does oil exploration near Hainan, we all should go protest.

You guys get crazy over oil I swear. China probably ran out of her oil preserves because of her exploding economy and her big stomach (1.3 billion people), that's probably why she runs down to Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia to fight over oil.
breaker4life
Vietnam should block China from entering near its coast. We let them get near and they do this to us over and over. We let other countries get near and they respect us. Lets see what their next move is when we have warships guarding our waters and blocking China from getting near. If they attack, then there will be war.

Because Vietnam's zone is really only 80 miles not 200 miles base on its continental shelf.

UN laws says you can have up to 200 miles(maximum) providing there's no dispute with others. There's No minimum in this case.

So, why don't you ask vietnam why it rewarded itself the maximum allowed, which 200 miles without consult with others? Obviously there's dispute in this case.

Greedy bastard, you already took the whole Paracel Islands in 1974. See the map below. We want to protect and preserve the region between the Mekong River and 200 Miles from Vietnam coast.

We are contesting, therefore that 200 miles is not in your pocket like you folks assumed.

XigonCongchua
Dispute happens when there's an overlap of EEZ. Eg: when the coasts of two countries are less than 400 miles apart.

There's no overlap in the case we're talking about because it's 600 miles from China. China just masquerades everything as a dispute to justify her encroachment of others' sovereignty.

Wrong buddy,

Dispute happened when there are neighbors claiming it. Doesn't matter 600 miles from China. Look at Guam from US.
Distance is irrelevant.

As long as there's other claims, which China does, based on historic fact, then your 200 Miles EEZ won't established.

maybe 80 miles, that's all you have legitimately without dispute.

china is probably doing this to test uncle sam determination cuz hilary clinton claimed the region is part of usa's "national interest". and another is because vietnam/philippine joining force to bring third-party oil companies to offset china claim sovereign rights. this upsets china, hence the incident that happened again. it's cheap political game, and i'm afraid vietnam is just part of the chess piece.

oh i'm afraid that China is nothing more than a chess piece too. A big chess piece in Cờ Tướng (kinda like Shougi), China is kinda like elephant. While Vietnam is kinda like a soldier, but you know in Western Chess, A soldier can turn into a Queen (which is absolutely powerful than a king), while the Elephant (Bishop) stay the same.

hmm i say china is like a pao cannon while usa is the chariot. china is trying to jump ahead of everybody. usa is an established general with great power ahead. a solider can only win when all major chess pieces are dead or isolated to give free road for the solider to trap the king. icon_wink.gif

Latest news! The Chinese government says all Vietnamese must apply for Chinese visas if they want to swim in the sea off the coast of VN since the sea belongs to China. People who only stay on the beach do not need to apply for visas, but must strictly observe the tide.

Latest news 2! The Chinese government says all Vietnamese must pay tax for the air they breath since the air also belongs to China.

Suspicions between China and its neighbours bedevil its boundaries to the east, south and west.

PRC will fall one day, if they continue their territory claims from its neighboring countries!

It is not good for China to have so many enemies
