Last night I tried to cook Cốm Dẹp but it did not turn out like the way I want bawling.gif . It became creamy look like cháo Dẹp. I am so disappointed it may be I added too much water into it. It became an cháo. I don't see any flake at all, it became creamy and so wet. icon_sad.gif

I think i added too much water into it. I still have one more bag of Cốm Dẹp. I'll try it again next time.

I tried to eat cháo Dẹp, it does not taste very good. I remember when I was young in Vietnam Cốm Dẹp tasted very good, but now I bought this Cốm Dẹp it did not taste like the way I tasted when I was young.

I also tried to buy Cốm Dẹp that original made from Vietnam already made and air tight from the refrigerator, but some how it taste kind of weird after I ate the Cốm Dẹp , my mouth feel very weird after that even I drink a lot of water, but I still feel kind of weird. I don't know how to describe it. May be the one it shipped to Canada added too much additives and preservatives. sure.gif

It does not taste like the way I ate when I was in Vietnam. The one I ate from Vietnam did not leave a weird feeling in my mouth after I ate it. icon_sad.gif

chán wá an Cốm Dẹp shipped to Canada khong ngon chúc nào, chác phải đi Vietnam an mới happy.

ok I'll plan a trip to Vietnam this year for an Cốm Dẹp only biggthumpup.gif .

Oh crap I though it's a typical Vietnamese food. I used to eat it when I was little. I just google it says its origin is from Khmer. Never known this fact.

Cốm Dẹp is made of sweet rice (sticky rice), sugar, coconut shred, and coconut juice. One can add color to it to make it look good (green color is usually used).
It is traditional Khmer food and popular in the South of Vietnam. I like to eat it sometimes. icon_smile.gif
