The activity on this site is pathetic. Are Singaporeans so satiated and smug that they know it all like the one or two posters here attempt to imply? Do Singaporeans know all the answers and that is why they have no questions? Or are Singaporeans so ignorant that they are afraid to open their mouths to ask a question to find out? Well I believe it is a bit of both.

For example, how many Singaporeans who visit this site know:
(1) The Politics of the PAP Government and where are they going?
(2) Know the politics of the surrounding countries like, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, China?
(3) How many are knowledgeable of their own religion, or the religions of the people around them? Sufficient to discuss it?
(4) Know the history and politics of Europe or America OR CHINA vis-a vis South East ASIA?
(5) Know who they are, where they came from, and where are they going?

I bet few here know much about the above topics yet these are the topics that are going to decide the future of you and your children. So are Singaporeans living on Cloud 9? Are Singaporeans living in "Ignorant Bliss?"

And if this does not stir a few thinking Singaporeans into a violent reply, then have the Singaporeans also been neutered and have no balls any more? LET'S SEE SOME ACTION!

And the problem escalates. TEACHERS, Lecturers, politicians are all equally biased or blind, and they teach the next generation who will also grow up blind. And so it goes on until the next eruption.

Still in a state of animated suspension? Let me add this, "One of the biggest dangers for any nation is, "Blindness to their own Weaknesses." This is what brought down the Ching Dynasty.

Singapore is in danger of "Intellectual inbreeding." Sweeping under the carpet all that is nasty and unpleasant, and believing in fairy tales. When teachers start teaching this to their students, it will take 5 generations to get out of this downward spiral. BEWARE!

4a. It is not only at asiafinest, but if you browse the whole internet forums, you will see that hardly any Singaporeans ever air their views there. Are they so scared of the CID? Is Singapore a semi-police state?

5a. Of course I do not mean "genetically inbred" but I mean "intellectually or culturally inbred." It they do not participate in international discussions about race, religion, politics, then it is a sterile society, a regimented society, and therefore "inbred" because they dare not extend their ideas outside the boundaries of their immediate culture. A dangerous state of affairs when Freedom of Thought and Expression is self-surpressed out of Fear of rejection? Yes, the culture is at risk of being inbred.

Note: I am analysing (Chinese) Singaporeans as critically as I analyse Malays, or Indonesians. And would analyse Brits, and Germans and Americans, and Hindus or Christians or Jews with equal impartiality.

You'll probably have to do some research on the number of Singaporeans using the internet itself. I can't see how Singaporeans would be so happy with their lives that they wouldn't discuss any problems... although I could be wrong about that. And what of Singaporeans that are abroad in other countries? Where are they?

Actually I am inclined to agree with point 4. Not many know about AF, even I stumbled on it from shear accident. I have been to many SG chatsite, it is as lively as any. In general you can get a got response or a good bashing from Singaporean, they give you as good as the next. It is just a pity this one is dead quiet, yea a ghost town.

That's a strong possibility, but it's more likely that "international" social chat forum such as AF does not appeal to the average Sgrean.
As a cosmopolitan city. Sgreans are exposed to (maybe assualted by) so much "internationals" in their daily work lives and as such local forums where the lingua franca is Singlish are prefered. Social chat forums such as sammyboy and sgforums are the few bastion of "space" for indulgence in Singlish humour and wits, and also a tribal identity.

You mean, The government has given her people a "dummy (a rubber nipple)" to pacify them? But keeping the real threats to Singapore's security a secret? Is that "mind control" or "deceit?"
