A lot of Americans would be perfectly content to know that they live in the gayest country in the world, though you can well imagine that a minority would take umbrage at the perceived slight to the national machismo. This is especially true since Vietnam turned out to be the least gay country in the world. Is that why — in spite of their inferior technology, firepower, and finances — Vietnam pretty much kicked our @$$ in the war? Were we too busy making love while they were making war?
It would be interesting to create a global map of all the various sexual inclinations, a worldwide atlas of perversions. What country has the most voyeurs? The most foot fetishists? What country is the world leader in lewd behavior? Is there a bestiality belt, a zoophilia zone? A province of pedophiles? A hotbed of hermaphrodites? Do masochists have a motherland? maybe they just don't admit it because the society is not open enough to accept them and don't give enough space for varieties

Maybe, maybe not. I just used the same terminology in the article I posted when they said they listed and I quote, the "gayest countries".
But yeah I can see your point, but I don't think there is a way to measure the true number of the gayest people other than catching them in the act or they admitting it. Thus I can see why the article would just say "gayest countries" rather than "gayest admittance".

I don't know about other cities in Vietnam, but I know there are a lot of gays and lesbians in Saigon. I must admit, a couple of my neigboard in Vietnam were gay. They are nice people as well. Gay people are nice. there are a lesbian couple I know live on the next street. these couples kind of very skinny.
All the viet gay guys are very nice as far as I know. they are good people. I don't like lesbian girls. I like to be friend with guys only.

by the way there are a lot of good looking gay in Saigon. they are very cute.
Saigon used to have a gay club open every Monday. now it shuted down for some reason. THey gay club fashion show.

I know Vietnamese is less strict on it compared to other Asian countries.

I think vietnam population is somewhere in upper 70 million. don't know about it being 3rd. don't care too much about looking pops of country though, but i've seen that somewhere.

You make it sound like thats a good thing. Its almost 2005 and here we still have people who show praise to their country just becuz they have the least gayest population???? If you ask me i think those figures are pretty misleading becuz you see m like a pretty gay viet...

^No, in the ballots they had some question about if you agree with homosexual marriage and most people checked "No" regardless who they voted for.

I always thought Vietnam was more open to gays then mosty of the Asian countries. Alot of Vietnamese have nothing to be scared about coming out of the closet. So Vietnam opressing them is one of the reasons,but not the main suspect for the low number of gays. I don't know if they mentioned Muslim countries in the survey but if they did Vietnam ranks even lower then them!
