After a brief rise in the 96-98 period, VN football has mostly stayed the same until he came. And now that he's gone, I'm afraid it's going to be a really long period of going-nowhere results ... There is just nobody with his vision and authority in VN right now (or anywhere who VFF can afford).

It was also reported that he had an offer for more money from a Thai club ... Seems like things never change.
