Full Version: Vietnamese people are one of the strongest people

To ever walk this earth, it's true it's true. I'd argue that we are by far the strongest but in all fairness we have to consider others. We're the only group of people on earth that have been able to survive a thousand year rule over a much larger and more powerful neighbor and retain our identity and independence. We defeated the Chinese numerous times, destroying their evil aspirations of imperialism over us. We defeated the Mongols three times, we also are the only country on earth to repel an American military invasion. These facts all make me proud of Vietnamese identity. Vietnam will never fall to any foreign invaders simply because we are too strong as a group of people to let foreigners come in conquer us. We've been picked on countless times but unlike other weaklings who failed to survive, we not only survived but continue to thrive. beerchug.gif to the Vietnamese people.

Id rather prefer a economically strong Vietnam with the majority of its citizens living in luxury a la Korea and Japan even though you'd have to give into American power.

I'd rather us build factories and invest in China and Korea and beat the $hit outta their workers than what is happening to us now.

fujisan_8,

You're no Vietnamese, so there is no "us" with you here.

You're no Vietnamese, so there can't be any of this pride in you.

You're no Vietnamese, so just feel free to continue lending them your @$$!

Well I'm not gonna agree with you that we are one of the most strongest people. I believe all races have their own strengths and weaknesses.

I don't really care if Vietnam is king of the world or not. I just want our people to be left alone and to live in peace.

First thing that came to mind when I read this post were The Trung Sisters & Phung Thi Chinh.

She (Phung Thi Chinh) apparently fulfilled her mission despite being pregnant at the time. She delivered her baby at the front, hoisted the baby onto her back and continued fighting.

After Hongwu’s death in 1398, a grandson succeeded him as emperor. However, in 1402, Zhu Di, Hongwu’s son and the new emperor’s uncle, usurped the throne. Known as the Yongle Emperor, he pursued aggressive and expansionist policies. He led five campaigns against the Mongols in the north and acquired territory from them. To oversee his new territory more closely, he moved the capital north from Nanjing to Beijing, where he built an elaborate palace compound known as the Forbidden City. He also reacted to turbulence in what is now Vietnam by sending an expeditionary force to the area. Yongle sent the admiral Zheng He on tribute-collecting voyages into the South China Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Persian Gulf. On one early voyage, Zheng He intervened in a civil war in Java and established a new king there; on another, he captured the hostile king of Sinhala (now Sri Lanka) and took him to China as a prisoner.

Dude, you're not even Viet. All you talk about is praising the chinese, japanese, and koreans.

And for the love of Viets, stop comparing Viets with another ethnic in language or something else. It's getting old, and it's [they] not worth it.
