Whats up people. I'm gonna be doing a road trip with a couple of friends to NYC, from Toronto. Just wondering if anyone can suggest any good places to go to party, or to have fun. I just don't wanna end up in some club or place where me and my friends are the only asians, and people look at us funny, or try to cap our @$$...LoL. Thanks.
b-man
let me know the dates, i'll find you an asian dance party................

Hey, Thanks so much for the replies guys and gals biggrin.gif I'm a newbie to NYC and don't know what to expect. I'm gonna be checking out the clubs there this friday and saturday Nov 12 and 13. So just lemme know which places I should check out.

Another thing is, we are prob gonna rent a hotel in Jersey, and take the cab or subway to NYC. Or is is better to drive to the clubs? And whats the average $$$ to park your car there?

Thanks so much peeps.

Question: will you have internet access before friday? If so, I'll send you the party info link in the middle of this week, always a party happening. 21+ clubs only, i do have kiddie clubs info if that's what you need LOL embarassedlaugh.gif2 NYC is awesome for newbies, you got to check out chinatown, in Manhattan and in Flushing. My favorite restaurant is Bo-Ky, Bo-Ky
across the street from Bo-Ky is the "ice-cream factory" e.g. leeche ice-cream, exotic flavors, a must try. Night life varies, make sure you hit up Time Square, a lot of actions. I don't know how you guys spend but I'm giving you a cheap way to have fun without the guilt. Also, if you staying in NYC for 7 days, buy yourself a weekly pass- UNLIMITED rides for the week per card holder, or if you gonna travel in SUBWAYS and buses frequent for that day BUY a fun pass, unlimited rides for that day, transporation can add up so use common sense, also, you mentioned Jersey, well, there is a path train NJ/NYC connection, I don't know if they upgraded to use nyc metrocards which was in talks, Path charge 1.50 per trip Path Train and mta $2 per trip, $21 weekly unlimited and $7 fun day unlimited - ahhhhh drive to clubs, is a must unless you got time to kill and troop it home public transportation BUT keep in mind PathTrain have many weirdos at the time you would be coming home, embarassedlaugh.gif2 along with any public transportation, if you was using just MTA, I say it would be fun minutes to kill ride home. Driving to and fro, the toll to enter nyc is 6 dollas using holland tunnel toll, & going home no toll except for some points in nj they have 50 cents tolls. after 9 pm parking in nyc streets is free on some of the streets, read signs, some are very confusing confused.gif , hmmm parking lot would be $20 would be my guess, BUT I don't condone in drinking and driving. Is it that much cheaper to rent in NJ? and I take it you guys are driving into the u.s.a., IMO: during the day if you was to be driving it is very hard to find parking spots you would have to go to a neighborhood & park and walk to your destination or use public transportation. I hate cabs, I only use them when someone else picks up the tab biggthumpup.gif cabs are expensive. Most NYC Museums have suggested entry fees basically if you offer to pay a penny they'll let you in, except for exhibits ahhh, united nations, statue of liberty, free ferry ride from nyc to staten island, LOL, street fairs, soho, village, noho... there's a lot

leave your car at the hotel. it's a pain in the @$$ to get anywhere and when you do get there, you'll pay AT LEAST 25$ for parking. do the cheaper thing and take the subway or a cab.

staying in no. jersey will definitely be cheaper, but will be more inconvienant. it's up to you whether or not you want to sacrifice convenience to save a buck or two.

lil-RP:dang gurl, you mad respresentin'. i nominate you for the AF good will NY diplomat award. ask ben for ya gift (dinner at bo ky)!

anyway back on topic
cabs are expensive to take into to the city from NJ, they charge you for the trip into and back. do public transit. its pretty easy. you'll get raped with parking and seeing how your not from the area, i wouldn't recommend street parking which has fines up to $135 now, either that or you can get towed.

where in NJ are you all staying?
iyaaah
Woo Hooo, Thnx so much for the info guys. I'm gonna print this stuff out.

i do have kiddie clubs info if that's what you need LOL

Haha LoL.....No kiddie stuff 4 me. I'm pretty old skool now, 26. This sounds like so much fun...except for the long @$$ drive thats gonna take, and the punk @$$ customs officers. I'm not sure where in NJ we are gonna be staying at, cuz my other friend booked it, and can't find her...LoL

I'm leaving 12 am on thursday, and prob won't have net access, unless I find a net caffe. I just hope it dosen't start snowing and $hit, when I'm driving, cuz it just started snowing here 2day. Anyways thanx peeps, and make sure u guys gimme a shout if u come to the T dot. Lata biggrin.gif

*b-man, I would love me some Bo-Ky meal, the country duck is to die for!! I don't know if you ever stepped foot in there but their menu is cheap and food is delicious. For $20 should feed 4 if y'all having ONLY noodles with wonton. I get egg noodles with dumplings soup, a side order of bok choy and quarter order of their country duck that's about $12, icon_wink.gif ...

*iyaaah and all, here's one invite, more to follow soon. I'm only listing free admissions if you want to pay let me know before I hit delete, biggthumpup.gif

GRAND OPENING continues of TLC Fridays
@ Canal Room
285 West Broadway @ Canal Street
21 and over

Last weeks party was a total success with an incredible turnout. TLC Fridays continues full steam ahead as we give people a new reason to go out on Friday nights

We waited all summer to introduce one of the newest and hottest venues in NYC. Canal Room now resides in the old Shine and New Music Café space. A million dollars has been invested to make this THE hip downtown spot.

The decor is a fusion of Euro-style architectural millwork and seating mixed with Asian accents to create a dynamic atmosphere.

An elevated glass enclosed VIP area overlooks the room with an unobstructed view of the stage. Design features include bamboo floors, ivory Barcelona chairs, black leather seating, touches of red, exotic greenery, and a state of the art DJ booth in the center of it all.

Our Weekly lineup includes resident DJ Danny O. and Big Ben spinning a great mix of Hip-Hop, R & B, Disco, Classics and a touch of rock.

If you want to be VIP, you must make table reservations.
