it is funny to see how retarded people are, he or she forgot that they are also Asian, and what different? only the language they speaks that about it, but them racist people usually get their @ss beat all the time, that's why they r so racists.
But anyway, the rice cover kind of food you guys talked about in here have what in it? wasit ground pork, mushroom and some little more incredients go with it? Was it fried when it serve? if it is, we called it "ba'nh so^i chie^n".
Pho is not only one kind of beef noodle soup, there is another kind of beef noodle soup and we called it " Bu'n Bo` Hu'e^", this soup is a little spicier compare to pho, a little different, but yum yum yum also a good soup to have too. Pho came from the North of VN, Bun Bo Hue came from middle, and the South have serveral kinds of noodle soup such as Banh Canh, Bun Rieu, Hu tieu, Bun Mam...and few more. All of these are good soup and each has each own taste. Enjoy them if you have a chance

Sorry about being stupid lately. I was travelling for the past week, away from home (out of the country actually) and didn't have anything to do except for drink and fool around on the internet...
But seriously, there is some stuff that kind of pisses me off, such as this:
http://www.senatciis.org/dating/vietnamese...ina-brides.htmlI have a friend who married a vietnamese. If you wanted my honest opinion, she was nothing more than a 'gold-digger'.
And you can't deny that the Chinese have contributed to the Vietnamese economy in the form of business. Several firms have experienced 600-1000% increase in value since 1995-1998. And while not hugely rich, lots of "Hoa" do own a sizable part of Vietnam's economy. Meanwhile most vietnamese come to China (cities like HK) as labourers.
edit: BTW, you've guessed a little high on my age.

Most Vietnamese businesses are owned by the communist state.
and Several firms increased 600%-1000% so what? Why should I care? Only the owners get the benefit of that.

That's because Vietnamese don't care if they buy stuff from a Chinese store. But if a Vietnamese set up shop in Hong Kong, I doubt the Chinese would ever give them a chance. While Vietnamese people don't discriminate.

You are mature, I hope you realize that gold-diggers exist everywhere and in every races. There are even news about many mainland Chinese women who got mistreated by their Taiwanese husbands because those men assume that their wives married them for economic purposes.

Hoa is a largest minority group in VN. While some of them are successful, a large number aren't that lucky. And remember, Chinese immigrants came to VN hundred years ago, while Vietnamese just started to work in HK or Taiwan the past several decades. Didn't you realized that most of immigrants from every ethnic groups, who started everythings with their bare hands in a new country, mostly working as laborers at first? This is also true for Chinese immigrants at the beginning of their settlement in VN, US and elsewhere. As long as people are honest and hard working, I will always respect them, regarless what kind of work they do.

i am a nguoi viet goc hoa, and i have been back to vietnam at least 4 times, and i can tell you, before the 1976 Hoa did own i would say about 30 percent of the economy in saigon only, not really anywhere else in vietnam, right now we own about 15 to maybe 20 percent of the economy in saigon, and we have about 500,000 to 700,000 nguoi hoa in saigon, and the population of saigon is around 6 million, so it is not really that much now, and when compare with the rest of vietnam we dont own hardly anything when compared with thailand, malaysia, philpine, in those countries the hoa own around a whopping 50 to 70 percent of the economy

You are right, I suspect that the owner of this restaurant is chinese, just look at the so called Pho bowl , it looks untasty, too much onions. I'm sure the owner would be unable to babble a sole vietnamese word.
I'm don't want to ignite a flame war but chinese restaurant businesses have undermined vietnamese cuisine reputation (where I live, lately, a lot of junk and outdated food selling cases have been detected by Food & Health authorities, these were chinese owned business) Even Chinese friends complaint about lack of ethics of Chinese catering businesses.

Whenever I read the phrase "I don't want to flame a war, but ..." then some prejudiced and biased belief is expected.
If some Vietnamese have bad behavior, don't say all Vietnamese are bad.
If some Chinese have bad behavior, don't say all Chinese are bad.
And don't call people who are people dogs.
People tend to do this: talking bad about other people is telling the truth, hearing the same thing about their own country they get mad and act angry. The thing is you get what you did. If you don't want something then don't do it to others.
If you do this to make the name of your country shiny you are wrong, in fact, you are dragging it to the mud.
