Is "Van" a viet boy name?
People told me it's either a girl's name or a boy's middle name. It's not one of those names that can go either way. My bro told me it was meant to be a dutch name and my parents in a way want to have my name to be associated with both westernly(if that's a word)/vietnamese.
I'm vietnamese, chinese, and part french btw. my parents grew up in vietnam though.
It's odd how my brother and sisters have english names (connie, tony, tracy) except for me.

I know a girl who's name is vān, which means cloud. So vān is a girl's name (i think).
"van" is also a Dutch word. It means "of" or "from" in English. Calling someone "van" in Dutch makes no sense.

I don't know any boys at at with the name Van around here. But there's about 6 girls with those names so I always saw it as a girl's name. But most Vietnamese names goes both ways.
