Full Version: Ford Fusion hybrid vs Toyota Prius?
Asia Finest Discussion Forum > AF Entertainment > Car Chat

I want a hybrid car, and I've narrowed my list down to these 2. I personally think the Fusion hybrid looks way better with its lower and longer stance. If I get the Prius, I'll have to get the V version, which costs the same as the Fusion hybrid, both having 17" wheels. I think the Fusion hybrid has good enough mileage at about 38 mpg combined. It's a tough choice between these two. Which would you recommend? I'm leaning towards the Fusion hybrid for the time being.

When did Ford ever made a hybrid car ? Toyota has been doing that for years yo. If u want a sedan hybrid, look into the camry hybrid

Ford Fusion hybrid is the best sedan hybrid out there at the moment, and has the highest mileage + the best interior. The 2011 Camry hybrid might rival it, not the current one.

But it's a Ford..

What's so funny about that? People should learn to respect others' opinions.
Jinata
I thought it was preference, not opinion. Anyways, why Ford, seriously?

It's a shame their cars aren't as nice as their logo.

Actually I find Ford vehicles to be quite excellent, in particular the F-150, Edge, Fusion, Flex.

What is your opinion on the Fiesta/Focus ST?

The Focus is a crappy car. I'm 6 feet tall, and small cars don't fit me. I only drive big cars. beerchug.gif

You should buy a Nissan Navara Outlaw, then.

Personally, if I am to get a full size sedan, the new Taurus would be top of my list. beerchug.gif

It's unfortunate the Armada is gonna be gone. Ford sucks in general? A company that hasn't been overtaken in over 100 years is in no ways sucking! Look at Nissan, almost taken over by Renault!
vtecKiller
what do u mean taken over....

and IIRC Nissan and Renault has the same CEO.....
Jinata
To be honest, Renault's influence is kind of ruining Nissan's cars.

The CEO of Nissan was a Renault exec. Renault owns over 44 percent of Nissan's shares. Once Renault owns over 50 percent of Nissan's shares, Nissan will become a subsidiary of Renault and totally controlled by it.

i have to agree with u ford is the only american car company that actually puts quality vehicle out there. their cars are the most reliable american brand, but still behind the big three from japan (toyota, honda, and nissan). nissan is not as reliable as toyota and honda but u get way more juice for the dollar. but, in comparison to most other brands out there including european brands. nissan still kicks @$$ in terms of overall quality. not all japanese cars are reliable too. suzuki sucks from i hear and read. toyota, subura, honda, are tops in the world. dynamics wise, its hard to beat the germans but there are japanese cars that can hang with the germans in terms of vehicle dynamics. too bad only bmw is the only german brand that has good reliability ratings. the other european brand that gives decent quality is volvo but they are a division of ford. go figure. gm has fallen off big time. but, i'll pimp out a chevy, gmc, or cadillac. thats american pimp baby. if u ballen, u gotta have an expensive european sedan in your driveway, a big american truck whether extended cab or suv, sometype of an exotic car and one sooped up honda, and a classic american car rebulit and polish, thats pimp.

to the topic. fusion hybrid and prius hybrid are different class vehicles. fusion is mid size and prius is compact although, quite roomy on the inside. anyways, u probably get more power in the fusion but prius gets more gas mileage. i guess its up to u, but i go with toyota only because toyota has a proven track record of making the most reliable cars out there. thats why they are number one and have taken over gm for the world's largest automaker. toyota technology is more advance then most automakers out there.

You gotta be kidding. Look at Opel and Holden. Simply puppets of GM for over 100 years. That's NOT a good direction for Nissan ( Sun Land Made ). eek.gif
