The Viets and Hans contribute to each other's cultures and traditions. If you can ask some Viets whether they have some Chinese, you can also ask some Hans whether they have some Viets.

Please understand that the orignal 100 tribes of Viets used to live south of the Yangtze River and extended to the Pearl River and Red River while the original Hans lived north of the Yangtze River (around the Huang He River).

Please see the map below for more information. Thank you.

Red River = light brown

Pearl River = light green

Yangtze River = purple

who is he?

He's the founder of the Ly dynasty in Vietnam. He moved the Capital from Bac Ninh, Northeast of Vietnam where he was originated from
to present day Hanoi in 1010. Hanoi is about to celebrate its 1000th birthday next year. Can't wait to see what in store for them.

He had a strong Buddhist background and had done many great things to the society and country at the time. One of which is the improved
Code of Law, Hong Duc which was pretty civil and advanced even at that period. At the fall of the Ly dynasty, some of his descendants fled Vietnam
to Taiwan and Korea to avoid political prosecution.

He's one of the great ruler in Vietnam.

Regarding the Hong Duc Code, I thought it is Le Thanh Tong (1442–1497) who was responsible for its creation. Please clarify. confused.gif

@Socal,
Hồng Đức laws was codified in the Lê Dynasty.
Lư dynasty witnessed the ascendence of Buddhism in VN.

I think he is talking about the "early le dynasty"
XigonCongchua
but Lê Thánh Tông was a king of the Hậu Lê not Tiền Lê

Tiền Lê Dynasty only lasted for 3 generations. icon_smile.gif It was very short lived
