VN Attends World Communist Conference in Athens
VietNamNet - Vietnam joined 50 countries at an annual conference of Communist and Workers' Parties in Athens, Greece, from October 8 - 10.
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) delegation was led by Deputy Director of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for Inspection Nguyen Thi Doan who is also member of the CPV Central Committee.
She delivered a speech at the conference and met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Aleka Papariga, and others.
The KKE leaders thanked the CPV for its sending the delegation to the conference, and said they highly regarded the CPV's position and role in the international communist and workers' movement as well as in the relationship between the two communist parties. They expressed their hope for further consolidation and development of relations between the KKE and the CPV.
At the conference, entitled "Combating imperialism's bellicosity. Fronts and counter-tactics", participants discussed measures to maintain and enhance the solidarity and coordination among the communist and workers' parties in the struggle.
