I've heard of the name bn thăng for a long time and I thought it originated from Hue but I've just found out that Hanoi is famous for a kind of noodle called "Bn Thang" which looks like this

Is it the same as "bn thăng"?

I googled the phrase "bn thăng" in google image and didn't get any result
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&...G=Search+Images

Does that mean the "correct" name for the noodle should be "bn thang" and the origin of the noodle is in Hanoi if they are indeed the same?

Wait I've just found out that many noodle dishes that I thought came from Hue actually came from North Vietnam. Huế is famous for "Bn B Huế", that's why every time I heard of the word "bn", I think the dish must be from Huế. How silly I was.

Bn riu cua (and bn riu) is actually from North Vietnam (I always thought it was from Central or Southern Vietnam)

Canh bn originated from Northern Vietnam too (and I thought it was something "đặc trưng" of Saigon)

Yeah I think vietnamese food is kind of healthy. not much greasy or fried stuff. they should print menus that show fat and calories. then compared them to fried rice, general tsao's chicken and that crap. lol...

The best Bn Thang place I know in Hanoi is in Cầu Gỗ Street, 20.000 VND per go. Bn Mọc is different I think, do you think? I can get you one for 10.000 VND. How many would you like?

oh you are so commanding. do you descend from the trieu sisters I guess?

Like most Han Chinese we are a mixed bag of genes from different parts of china. Most of my lineage is from carpet baggers--i.e. they travel with the government then settle all over china. I have a mix of Jiangsu, sichuan, yunnan. I feel close to Jiangsu because that's where I grew up. Yes, I'm one of the high IQ boys. icon_wink.gif

hey is it always necessary to add .000 to any currency amount in vietnam? seems cumbersome!
XigonCongchua
^ it's the Trung sisters.

ok. I just had a thought that you might be a minority which is why you're not as aggressive as some other.
ChinaSoldier6
Han are not aggressive. My friends never talk like this in real life. But when Han come on the Internet and see all the hostility and insults against China, it drives us mad, because we never carry these feelings towards other people (except the @$$hole Japan). So maybe we overreact a little, you can understand.
JazzyQueen
Ok let me give a comment to chinese closed to Vietnam. sichuan people just ok. Canto- 50/50, Yunnan = 70 percent good = 30 % badass
